May 2, 2036 (Fourth Years Transfigurations Class)

"Now the incantation required is now written on the board..." Eglantine charmed the chalk to complete the Guinea fowl to guinea pig incantation and set to passing out said guinea fowl's cages. "Please do not play with your transfigured creatures and do not let them..." A Slytherin girl shrieked as her fowl morphed into a guinea pig with wings and began to attack her.

"Stupify!" the winged rodent fell off the girl's face and Eglantine sighed softly. To keep her student's eyes from wandering during class, her robes were thick enough to dispel her pregnant state, along with a mild glamour. Kiara had insisted she take maternity leave, but with classes and all, Eglantine had assured her everything would be fine and had taught anyway.

"Please try not to let them fly or scamper away," she finished, going back to her desk to grade a few essays as well as monitor the students. Her gaze wandered briefly to Rossa, her granddaughter. Surely she would preform the spell perfectly, she mused with pride.

A sharp pain lanced up Eglantine's abdomen. But she ignored it, continuing to check the essay. She had already had two bouts of false labour a week before. Again the pain washed over her and she wondered briefly if perhaps it was the real thing.

Rossa copied the incantation on to her partchment and repeated it over and over in her head along with wand movement before lifting her hand and imagining the change in her mind as she brought her and up to the Guinea fowl and she muttered the spell.

And it turned in to a Guinea Pig, she placed her hands close to it and to make sure it stayed on her desk, while taking notes out of her book for more info on the spell or those simiiar.

She liked transfiguation, and just because her Grandmother taught it. It was fassinating even fun.

She smiled despite herself when Rossa's guinea pig appeared without imperfections. Expected or not, it was delightful to see. Only a small handful of other pupils had such progress.

Again the pain hit her and she tightly clenched her hands. The class was only going to last another... she glanced at the clock... ten minutes. She could last that much longer. The pain faded and she sighed. It must have been yet another false alarm. Slowly she rose to her feet to assist a struggling Gryffindor.

Halfway to his desk, she felt liquid rush between her legs and paused as it registered with her brain.
"Miss McConn." She stated firmly, calling for Rossa's attention. "Five points to Ravenclaw for a-a flawless transfiguration." Her breathing hitched as her vision began to swim. The pain was close to agony; only a fraction away from lightning...

Walking to the door, she peeked out to see if perhaps she could grab a passing student to send to... to who? Kiara was far too busy to be bothered with this... Horatio was taking a five year class to the museum... Leaning against the door for support, she decided to risk bothering Kiara... either that or her fourth years were going to get a first hand look at the risks of marriage.

Turning back to her class, she tapped her cane for attention.
"Class dismissed." she gasped, barely able to keep her volume high enough to be heard.

Rossa bit her lip in worry at her Grandmothers behavior, knowing her Mum was worried about her working while being so close to the time of having the baby.

When the class was dismissed Rossa went to her grandmothers side in case she would need help, she wasn't about to leave her, dissmissed or not.

Yelling out at hall toward her classmates,"Here one of ya's get the Headmistress as quick as ya can inform her to come to Transfiguations Room" she said rather comandingly.

Quickly going back to her grandmother, she bit her lip awain and muttered a spell at a chair and making it a more comfortable for her. it was a spell a bit a head of her. one corner was not complete but it would work.

"Are ya and the baby okay" she asked wanting to help her to the chair.

Eglantine stayed pin straight despite the pain and the class' departure. She didn't notice that Rossa had stayed behind until she heard the girl's voice shouting for someone to get Kiara.

She leaned against the conjured chair, swearing inwardly that she was never going to ignore maternal leave again... not that she was planning on another child, but it helped to think it...
"Lovely..." she murmured, "Don't worry."

Rossa bit her lip hoping her mother would get here soon, she didn't know how to deliver a baby.

Remembering when her mother went into labour with Beagan, her back hurt really bad. So she brought a hand to her grandmothers back and rubbed.

"You are having the baby right now aren't you.. ummm is there something I can do until help comes?" she asked wanting to be helpful but not knowing what else to do.

She wanted Horatio... strangely enough he had been constantly checking in on her during her classes, his white head poking into the door, much to the amusement of her students. Now the time she finally needed him, he was gone. Oh fate had such a terrible sense of humour...

Rossa's hand gently rubbing her back helped slightly, but her back was actually quite numb.
"Yes, it would seem so." she muttered, smiling. "No, it will be fine..."

At least it wasn't twins this time, she added to herself. Ewan and Ean's birth had been awful; almost 24 hours of intense labour after Ean had turned the wrong way. The memory did nothing to help and she began to slowly pace. She had been pregnant with Ara and Ava and taught, but a week before their birth she had gone on maternity leave... with Ewan and Ean she had gone into labour during at midnight, so there had been no class to worry about, just her repeated efforts to wake up Horatio, who slept like a log...

Rossa bit her lip as she watched her grandmother pace, she went to the door and looked out for her Mum..

"Come on Mum where are ya?" she asked to her self becoming very nervous. She was scared out of her mind, she wasn't even allowed in the room when her Mum had Beagan... but then again she had only been 5 at the time.

She looked back at her grandmother, no she had to do something to make sure her mother or someone would get here. She couldn't bare the baby or her grandmother being hurt or worse cause of her inexperince.

"Want something done right you have to do it yourself" she muttered pulling out her wand.

"Expecto Patronum!" she cast, and a long cobra snake sprouted form the tip. She would blush about her patronus later... when she first cast it a few years ago it had been a Kangaroo... it had changed to a snake 6 months later.... after certian feelings for a young man were known...

" Go and find my mother, tell her Grandmama has gone into labour and needs help" she said.

The ghostly serpant hissed nodded its hooded head and it swiftly slithered out of the room.

"There.." she went over to her grandmother again, "Mum should be here soon Grandmama" she said.

"Maybe I should just go to the Hospital Wing..." Eglantine murmured, more to herself than to Rossa. But she continued pacing despite her statement. She oddly enough noticed her granddaughter's altered patronus, but failed to comment. Hers had never altered, although she currently was unable to cast it... had not been able to cast it since Excessum...

"Would you please move the birds and guinea pigs back to their cages..." she requested, not wanting the free animals to take over the classroom just because she had gone into labour. Oh and there was progress reports to finish for each student and she had only graded a quarter if that of the essays... they were needed the next day.

Pointing her wand at the desk, she charmed it to begin marking the essays, linking her mind to it in order to point of the errors. Her thick robes made pacing difficult with the added pain, and she fumbled with the hooks at the back to open the heavy outer robe.

Rossa nodded willing to do anything of help.. with a series of spells she got the animals back in the cages...

She noticed her grandmothers trouble with the hooks on her robes. "Here, um I can get it" she said nimbliy handleing the hooks.

Kiara ran throught the halls, a Ozygen mask over her mouth, she was no long on the potion since her had been pregant with Greta. "I told her to go in leave... does she listen no.... Merlin she is.... ooo" she said exasperated.

Finally she got to the transfiguration room. Where she saw Eglantine with Rossa.

" Eglantine, how are you doing?" she asked vanishing the Oxygen mask. Deciding not to say "I told you so" since she was sure her mother regreted her action now.

"Rossa honey, you did very well to stay with her. I am proud of you" she said patting her daughter on her shoulder.

Rossa nodded, just simply glad her mother was there, and not just her.

"Danke, lieb..." Eglantine murmured, grateful when the heavy fabric finally slid free with Rossa's assistance. The robe under it was much lighter, its pale cream a stark contrast to the black robe she stepped out of.

"Peachy..." She sighed in response to Kiara. "Apparently none of my children believe in coming on time or in a timely fashion." Years of physical pain had made her fairly susceptible to numbing and although she knew the pain was present, she could hardly feel it anymore. Suddenly afraid this fact might harm the child, she schooled her thoughts to the pain and cried out as it hit her in a falling wave. Nearly falling to her knees, she began to cry softly.
"Wo ist er?" (Where is he?) she whispered, suddenly needing Horatio more than anything.

Rossa didn't need to be told on who 'he' was, her Grandpapa... and he has horrid timing of days he didn come to check on her and today of all days he couldn't.

Kiara sighed "Horatio is at the museum Eglantine, Don't worry I will find a way to contact him... He will be here soon." she assured as she got up.

"Rossa , just stay with her okay? I will be in her office if anything happeneds, just call if something changes." she said.

Rossa nodded and gulped as she went beside her Gradmother, hoping to spot any signs of trouble should any arise.
She then thought she should get a bed or something for her, to be more comfortable.

"Are we going to help you to the hospital wing, or your quarters? " She asked surely she wasn't going to have the kid here.

Taking slow breaths, Eglantine finally stopped her tears, despite their brief appearance. Gently she picked herself up, taking a seat in the chair Rossa had so thoughtfully made for her.
This was going to be her last child... she was heading down a fading street when it came to age and already two of her children were younger than Kiara's.

Horatio wanted to name the boy Ciaran, or Abraxas, after his good friend. Although she had nothing against those names, she wanted to name him after Sevastyan... and Viper's brother, the one she had killed then brought back to life. Sevastyan had tried so valiantly to assist her with Excessum; and she felt guilty about killing Dracovan...

Kiara rushed to Eglantine's office to the floo and called the museum Horatio had gone to on the field trip.

"Excuse me, this is Headmistress Kiara from Hogwarts, Please contact Professor Horatio McKevin, his wife has gone into labour. It is urgent he get back here as quick as possible" she said.

Rossa bit her lip, and put her hand on her grandmothers arm, hoping she wasn't in to much pain.

"Are we going to help you to the hospital wing, or your quarters? " She asked surely she wasn't going to have the kid here.

The museum director nodded and hurried away from the floo, calling for his secretary. Several moments passed before he huffed back to face Kiara.
"I'm so sorry, Headmistress. Professor McKevin and the students aren't in the museum anymore. We have no idea where they've gone." Thinking a moment he added. "Maybe they're on their way back."

"My quarters..." Eglantine muttered. She was not going to have her baby in the hospital wing where at any moment a student could walk in... privacy curtain or not, she preferred her chambers.

Kiara sighed "He had better be, Thank you anyway for your rush Director" she said pulling her head out of he floo and rushing back to Eglantine and Rossa.

Rossa nodded, "I see"

"Horatio isn't at Museum anymore, hopefully he is on his way back now" she said going back to Eglantines side. I will have Saturn or a patronus tell him to get a move on, we should get you to your quarters hmm? while you are still able." she said not really comfortable with the idea of being in the class any longer then they had already.

Eglantine moaned softly, closing her eyes. Slowly she got to her feet, feeling more unsteady than she had before. Rossa and Kiara swam in her vision. Another wave of pain hit, but she ignored it, walking slowly but straight nonetheless.
"I am not having another child..." Eglantine whispered to Kiara, smiling as if it were a secret jest.

Kiara and Rossa stayed close by Eglantine just in case, both sent the other a smile at the declaration that Eglantine would have no more children, most of her children found it funny there uncles were younger then them. Must have felt strange to Ciaran to have brothers and Sister in laws that were still children.

"If you say so Eglantine" she said lightly and smiled back.

"Now is there a Doctor I should try and contact?" she asked.

Rossa ran a head to get the door and make sure there was no one in the halls.

"No... no doctor or healer." Eglantine muttered, glad her cane assisted her walking effort. Oddly enough, she usually despised the silver object. Horatio had wanted a healer at the very least; but she had had enough trouble with the damn healer from hell with Ewan and Ean... "I am not planning on repeating the twins' birth..." And she could hardly be blamed... 24 hours was hardly something she remembered with joyous rapture.

Kiara tried to stop her self from showing her worry, she would have felt better if there was a healer there, but it was a little late now wasn't it.

"At least let me get someone who has Experinece in delivering babies, Eglantine... I am an emergancy medic only... " she said.

"How about I call Esis? Perhaps she can help?" she asked.

Rossa looked around the hall and found a portrait. "Mum, Grandmama, Here is a short cut we can get to your Quarters alot quicker" she said wanting to get her Grandmother safe in a bed and ready have her child.

Eglantine nearly shoved Kiara against the wall her fury rose so quickly. Pain from her present circumstance and of course self-control that could rival a nun's kept her from showing such physical aggravation.
"No." She stated simply, shuddering inwardly as she remembered helping Esis deliver Gwen's oldest child. Oh it had been awful... With Esis having a muggle and magical camera snapping pictures and of course Mozart playing to increase the infant's intelligence... but worse of all... Esis had insisted that any good witch or wizard born needed a magical test... kidding or not it had not been something Eglantine wanted to participate as the mother rather than the glaring assistant...
"You will do fine." she assured Kiara. A short cut sounded lovely and she slowly turned to take it along with Rossa.

Kiara sighed again she just prayed very thing went alright, if anything happenen to Eglantine or the baby, she couldn't forgive herself.

"Alright Eglantine... I will try my best" she said. This time putting her hand on Eglantines arm ligtly, hoping to offer comfort and support her side.

Rossa smiled "I used to take this way from the Defence to your Class all the time, Grandmama" She said. " We should be right across from you Quarters in about two minutes Grandmama.
