Parent Trap Part 1

Tina went up to Armando and kissed him on the lips. "Have you told her yet?"

Armando gave Tina a guilty smile and looked sheepishly at Adelina. "'Riana, this is Tina, Tina Minas."

"...Hi..." Adelina inwardly began to panic.

A girlfriend?! He wasn't meant to have a girlfriend!

...She needed to talk to Adriana. And quickly.

"Uh...I just gotta...sort something out. You guys go sit down-I'll be right there."

Without waiting for a reply, she raced upstairs and into the bathroom, locking the door and taking out a certain mirror. "Adriana! Adriana!" She hissed into it.

Armando looked confusedly at his daughter's retreating form. "I think I should go check up on her..."

"Don't worry, she's just shocked, she'll come around." Tina said pulling Armando away.

"But..."

"No, come on, I thought you said you'd fixed me dinner."

"Yes but Adriana - "

"Will come back in a few moments, trust me."

Not knowing what else to do, Armando followed Tina in the kitchen.

"What?" Adriana said through the mirror. She seemed rather annoyed.

"Adriana...Dad's got a girlfriend!" Adelina hissed into the mirror. "You've got to help me! What are we going to do?!"

She glanced at the door, listening carefully for any sound of her father. Nothing.

Thank Merlin.

"Wait what? Calm down. That doesn't make sense. Dad doesn't date." Adriana said confidently.

"I am 110% sure he does! She turned up for dinner with us, and they kissed! She also asked him if he'd told me-you yet!" Adelina glanced up at the door again.

"Adriana, you've got to help me! What should I do? I'll have to go back down there any minute!"

"But Dad doesn't date!" Adriana said incredulous. "I... don't understand..."

"I can assure you he does!" Adelina whispered, conscious that it would sound odd if she was talking to herself.

"Look, just help me out here! What. Do. I. Do?!"

"I..." well Adriana didn't know. She never even knew he dated.

"Sabotage?" She suggested.

"...Sabotage?" Adelina raised an eyebrow, but then smirked slightly.

"What were you thinking?"

"Well I mean, unless you like her." Adriana said.

Adelina raised an eyebrow. "I don't know-though I thought we were going to get mum and dad back together. I'm sick of Mum being all on her own. Plus, she just seems...annoying."

She glanced up at the door again. "I'll have to go in a minute but how's Mum?"

"She's fine... I think... though I have nothing to compare it to... How's Dad? Well I mean, other than the new girlfriend." Adriana said.

"He seemed fine." Adelina smiled. "He said something about taking a mental picture or something." She half-laughed.

"Yeah, he's getting all real sentimental really." Adriana said.

Adelina laughed quietly. "Parents." She rolled her eyes.

Then she glanced at her watch. "Um...I'd better get back down there."

"Yeah, don't want them to worry." Adriana said. "I'll talk to you later."

"Yeah...About 7?" Adelina asked, standing up.

"Sure thing," Adriana said. "Bye."

"See ya..." Adelina wiped the mirror clear and replaced it in the inside pocket of her jacket.

Unlocking the door, she made her way back downstairs to the dining room.

"There she is," Armando said smiling at his daughter. "Is everything alright?"

"Of course it is," Tina answered smiling sweetly.

Adelina nodded. "'Course."

She sat down in the vacant chair and picked up her cutlery.

"Tina's been dying to meet you," Armando prodded. It was important for his daughter and his new girlfriend to get along.

Adelina smiled frostily. "I had no idea..."

She began to eat her beef, to avoid answering any more questions.

Armando looked somewhat saddened by his daughter's apathy but Tina wasn't about to give up. "So Adriana, your father's told me a lot about you."
