Cold, Dark water closing in on her....

An anchor clenched around her writhing form

Closer and closer to Davy Jones Locker

A sea beast streaming towards her

Fangs revealed, sinking into her flesh

An anchor engraved with the Viper Clan Emblem

The Titanoboa, the Viper's Guardian, after her blood...

Green Orbs opened suddenly, blinking rapidly as their owner tried fervently to dispel the images. For the past several weeks, her mind had been plagued by these nightmares, replaying over and over again, driving her step by step closer to insanity. Nightmares were nothing new to the witch, for she had had them for as long as she could remember. However, what made this particular nightmare stand out from all the others was not merely the images playing repeatedly, but because she understood the origin and significance of it all.

Huntington's.

The cursed disease that rotted minds, stole happiness, and annihilated lives, taking over. Every moment of Viper's life seemed to revolve around it as she wondered what had she now forgotten, what could she no longer do, how much time she had left until the final stages. Until now. Now, it was just too tiring to care, or try to care about anything. Viper found that it was much more easy to ignore it all, reach for her cigarettes, puff a couple boxes, whilst drinking a river of vodka. Who cares? She's already destined to die prematurely. At least this way she dies happy.

The air around her was an icy, unforgiving gale, followed by an eternal pouring of rain, drenching her slender form completely, causing her thin nightwear and dressing gown, her only protection against Mother Nature, to cling to her frame. But it all went ignored as thoughts rambled onward and onward around her.

There's nothing wrong with me
This is how I'm supposed to be
In a land of make believe
That don't believe in me

Her Healers had told her to go to Genetic Counseling, to speak with a Professional that could help her through this "difficult period in her life". Viper had to use every amount of self-control she had left to nod and accept the papers. Though, at the first opportuned moment, she tossed the papers, igniting them with flames and went about her wallowing self-pitying bussiness as usual. After all, how the hell would a perfectly healthy person, possibly console Viper and make her feel better about herself? What, would they hold her hand, tell her not to be afraid, to accept Huntington's, and grin and bear it? Tell her that they understand. Pssh. Screw that. Her cigarettes and vodka were good enough.

The center of the earth
Is the end of the world
And I could really care less...

Screw Huntington's. Screw the Potions Community, half of which were now laughing at her. For years she had fought against them, struggling to keep her license. Now, all of a sudden, she had willingly terminated both her license and her status as a prominent Potions Mistress. It had been a heavy blow to her pride, ego, and her dignity.

Everyone is so full of s***
Born and raised by hypocrites
Hearts recycled but never saved
From the cradle to the grave

Screw all the happy people around her, celebrating her demise. Screw all those happy people everywhere, all around her who would be able to see their children grow up and be there for them every single damn day.

Screw the fact that most mornings she couldn't even get out of bed from both constant fatigue. and strong bouts of depression and uselessnees she couldn't stop herself from feeling. Screw her ancestry, and their pureblood mania which lead to this genetic defect and enabled the disease to spread. Screw herself for feeling this way, and not able to, and honestly, not wanting to do anything about it either. Despite the fact she was hurting everyone she loved, particularly Sevastyan and the children, because of it...

I lost my faith to this
This town that don't exist
So I run
I run away
To the light of masochist
And I leave behind
This hurricane of ****ing lies
And I walked this line
A million and one ****ing times
But not this time

I don't feel any shame
I won't apologize

Titles were once as valuable aspect to Viper, worth almost as much as a vault of galleons. In her mind, they were what made someone important, they were what symbolized a person's place in the world. That's why she always flares when someone refers to her as "Ms. Viper". She wasn't Ms.Viper, just a face in a crowd. She's Professor Viper, someone who worked for years to earn that title and keep it, commanding respect.

Or at least, she was...

Now that era was over. No longer was she or would she be referred to as Professor Amaranth Viper. She relinquished her right to that title when she terminated her license, killing a part of herself in the process. Now she was just Amaranth Viper: a has-been, a shadow of the past, of no real significance. True, technically her name was Amaranth Viper-Kaminski, but... was that title rightfully her's either? She knew perfectly well that she was a failure as both Mother and Wife, abandoning her family to focus on her own damn emotions. Merlin, how she hated herself...

With a shaking hand, a newly developed symptom of that beloved foe Huntingtons, she withdrew her silver dagger, the same one that she had kept all throughout her years as a Potions Mistress. Once a prized possession, now a useless relic. For the first time acknowledging the storming surroundings, Viper blinked away the rain cascading upon her face and form in an effort to rid herself of the blurring vision as she opted for a better line of vision.

She eyed her left hand and all that adorned it: her engaement ring, her wedding ring, and the tattoo on her wrist that matched the one on her husband's. All of which helped demonstrate a semblance of her identitity and yet, somehow, simulataneously confused her more. Despite the happy memories she knew were symbolized, she felt like... an imposter. She didn't feel like the same woman as the one who had experienced all those happy times, feeling as though nothing could ever break her or pull her down.

Now she felt hollow: lifeless, soulless, and broken.

Viper inhaled sharply as she felt the urge to cry surface once again. Immediately, she closed her eyes, annihilating the urge. She was done with that. She was so tired of walking up to tears cascading down her face, staining her pillow, soaking into her hair. The past few weeks she had done nothing but cry. For everyone of the infinite raindrops pelting her, was a tears she shed in her ocean of self-pity and depression.

She was done with that now. She was tired of feeling nothing but sorrow. She was tired of breathing and not living. She wanted salvation.

It all starts with a lullaby...

A soft, whispered melody cadenced out of Viper's mouth as she brought the blade closer and closer. It was a song she knew by heart, "Sleeping Sun" that she had sang to her children when they infants as a lullaby and with them as she played the tune on the piano.

"Oh how I wish to go down with the sun, sleeping, weeping, with you..." she half sang, half whispered softly as she brought the blade to her wrist, carving a simple word unto her wrist, slicing right through her veins, on top of her tattoo. Nemo Latin for nobody, and an avid description of what Viper felt best characterized her.

She smiled softly at the carved and bleeding letters on top of her wrist. Given her condition, she couldn't feel any of the pain but something about the words she now had branded upon her gave her inner peace, along with the rather fearful amount of blood gracefully cascading, down along her arm, and unto a small pool at the ground beside her feet.

Nothing else mattered to the witch as she sat, curled on the stone ground of the roof, shivering both from her icy surroundings and as a result from her increasing blood loss. All she could focus on was Nemo, watching as the blood flowed out of every letter, down her arm, spreading everywhere.

Hogwarts Rooftop ~ Late August 2028 Empty
PostSubject: Re: Hogwarts Rooftop ~ Late August 2028   Hogwarts Rooftop ~ Late August 2028 EmptyMon Dec 07, 2009 6:28 am

Ethan Addams was up incredibly late... for some reason he just couldn’t sleep. He couldn’t understand why sleep evaded him: he was happily married to Juria, a father to their daughter whom they named Christine, and one of the Godparents of one of his best friend’s and former pupil’s three children. Perhaps it was the worry that one if not all of them would go the way of his first wife that had him in such a state.

Add to his worries of his own family the fact that his aforementioned best friend and former pupil – Amaranth Viper – had recently and informally split for reasons unknown to Ethan from her husband... Viper had been fairly recently diagnosed with Huntington’s disease, he knew. While he didn’t know much about it at the time, he couldn’t help but feel sympathy for the woman. Like anyone else close to both Viper and Sevastyan, Ethan agreed to do all he could to help the couple out.

So... what did Ethan Addams do at this late hour of the night, with a gale such as was pouring outdoors? Why, he wrote, of course! Writing was just one of the wizard’s passions, in very close second to the plants he tended. As it was, he decided there was no better place to write than in his combination gazebo/office – where he could listen to the squall and hopefully find a strangely tranquil solace within it.

The sound of rain pummeling the roof...

As Ethan wrote – more like typed, for he was using a laptop keyboard – he couldn’t help but wonder how the Kaminski lot were holding up this evening. He hadn’t been needed to babysit in a while... the most recent of which he could recall being when Sevastyan had called upon him at very short notice. Well, there was that incident shortly after the couple informally split as well. It was probably a good thing he’d taken over that day: Sevastyan was far more ill-tempered than his usual of late.

A sudden flash of lightning caused the wizard to jump and look to the skies in startlement. What he could barely see from his spot on the grounds made the Herbologist’s complexion to take on the pallor similar to one of the castle ghosts:

Amaranth Viper was on the rooftop... and if he didn’t know any better he’d say she had a dagger in hand.

Without delay, Ethan scrambled from his seat, gathering anything he thought he’d need or use, and bolted out of his office. It was madness to even think about running up every staircase in order to reach her, and apparition was not readily available to those not in the company of the headmistress. There was no time to fetch anyone, even with an animagus, if he was thinking what he thought Amaranth was thinking.

While he was not afraid of heights, Ethan was very much afraid of falling. Despite this fear, he summoned the nearest broomstick and leapt on, flying against the wind and rain with some difficulty. By the time he reached the rooftop, Viper had withdrawn from her standing position in favor of curling up upon the stone tiles of the roof. As Ethan dismounted from the broom he slipped upon the tiles and went to one knee, his hand flung out and into a puddle that had accumulated there not very long before. A gasp of fright issued from him upon pulling his hand out of the puddle and seeing it covered in a substance entirely different from rainwater.

“L-lumos...” Ethan muttered, paling to the color of snow upon seeing the crimson on his hands. Blood... He felt the same way when Laura died: as though he had been responsible. That her blood was on his hands. He wasn’t about to let Amaranth’s blood join the bloodstains of his ex-wife!

“Amaranth! What in Merlin’s name...” he immediately attempted to strike up conversation as – stepping over the puddle of blood – he approached. It was a lot of blood... Ethan would need to keep her conscious until proper help could be acquired. It was then he noticed from where she was bleeding.

’Oh good Merlin, no!’ the wizard’s mind screamed.

Immediately he severed a strip or two of cloth from his sleeve, and reached for to wrap and apply pressure to her wrist in hopes to staunch the bleeding. Ethan wasn’t sure he had the medical experience to solve this in time, and thus sent out several urgent patronuses – little Chihuahuas made even more frantic than the actual creatures’ nature by their caster’s sense of panic – and prayed at least one would return with some form of help. “You need to stay with me, alright, Viper? Pretty pretty please, with as many illegal plants on top to your heart’s content?” the wizard practically whimpered, very much afraid for her.

Hogwarts Rooftop ~ Late August 2028 Empty
PostSubject: Re: Hogwarts Rooftop ~ Late August 2028   Hogwarts Rooftop ~ Late August 2028 EmptyTue Jan 19, 2010 1:24 am

While Viper had once scoffed at the idea of hallucinations, calling those who suffered from them, weak-minded fools, it seemed as though, once again, Karma had sought vengeance. Hysteria, Grief, and blood loss seemed to have united to form a hallucination that seemed to come from the heart of Hell itself.

As she lay bleeding and weeping, she began to sense movement in the rain clouds and pouring rain enveloping her. A little flicker here, a faint whisper there....

...Until she began to see shadowed figures curling everywhere, screeching, hissing, calling her name to join them, and jump. Plunge headfirst; break free and fly, straight into the dark, mysterious abyss.

Her breath quickened, each more shallower than the last as her mouth began mimicking the words uttered by the demons she saw. "Children die and people cry... Denying, lying, children fighting.... Dying, Praying, Bleeding, Screaming..." over and over again, like a mantra, as she caressed the dagger allowing it to dance around her hands and fingers, slicing and dicing at every inch of flesh available, speeding the cadence of blood throughout her limbs.

Cut it

Cut it

Cut It All

Fly little butterfly, fly...

Sing what you can't say
Forget what you can't play
Forsake the voice in your heart
Broken, torn, far apart

No need to die to prove a lie, but I need to die to feel alive...

Fly little butterfly, fly...

She immediately screamed upon feeling another's touch, convinced that the monsters she had seen lurking everywhere had finally snatched her. She fought against the unknown person, pulling her hand away, and stumbling away, until her back pressed against the wall, helping support her quivering limbs.

Green eyes blurred from a mixture of tears and rain blinked several times, their owner shaking from the cold, wet atmosphere as well as the blood loss, until recognition crossed her features. "I don't want to do this anymore..." she offered softly through tears, by way of explanation, and perhaps justification, for her actions. Viper shivered as though she were gasping for breath. It seemed the effects of what she had done to herself had finally caught up with the witch as she began to grow dizzy and breathing became more and more difficult. It felt as though a great boulder of sorrow and agony was upon her chest, crushing all the life and oxygen out of her, causing her to lean against the stone wall for support. She relished the feel of the sharp edges of the wall digging unto the pale, bare flesh of her back, causing more cold blood to cascade down her back.

Maybe at another time Viper would have laughed, or at least smiled at the wizard's rather comical statement. However, considering where she stood in her life, smiling was something she hadn't done in a while, and wasn't something that would happen anytime soon.

"I-I need to die, to feel alive..." she shakily breathed out in a whisper, the dagger in her hand slowly beginning to sink into her chest where the shards of her broken heart lingered.

*Outside Headmistress's Chambers*

Kiara sighed as she carried a sleeping Rossa in her arms, her little girl had been having terrible nightmares and had begged her to let her sleep in her office as she worked. Kiara gave in and let Rossa sleep on the sofa. It was now Rather late and she was about to turn in her self. It had been a horrible... with Eglantines Death and then Ciaran's parents murder.. She hadn't been sleeping well either, worry for her family and friends plagued her mind almost constently... peaceful sleep was little more then pleasant memory for many of them...

She muttered her chambers password, " Hope for the future" and the protrait opened. She was just about to walk in when the ghostly image of a patronus zipped over to her.

The message made her own blood run cold...

"I need HELP! Viper and I are on the rooftop - there's a lot of blood up here! I'm doing what I can but I'm no medical professional! Someone...! Anyone...!"

Rossa was awoken by the panicked voice of her Uncle Ethen and she looked at her Mum.

"What happed Mum?" she asked worried and more then a little scared.

"I am not sure Sweetheart, Please go inside, I must go and assit if I can" she said placeing her daughter down by the portrait hole.

"Okay Mum... I hope Aunt Viper is alright" she said..

Kiara sighed as she started down the hallway, from the panic in Ethan's voice she doubted it. " So do I dear, now go to bed.."

Rossa nodded and heading in, however going to bed was the last thing she intended to do.

Kiara hurried down the halls heading to the Rooftop, worried about what she would find... She had been worried about Viper ever since she resigned as potion mistress, never had she seen the younger woman look so defeated. After everything that had happened... all the pride she put into being a Potion mistress and tell all those who doubted her to quite literally to F**k off... And she ended up having to quit due to the horrific illness that had clamped down in her. Worry for Viper and her family entered her mind.. more so that it had been before... She found her self praying that Ethan was overexaterating... After a few moment of running she growled at the fact she was out of breath due to her horrible lungs...

"Saturn.. I need your help to the roof top" she thought out to her Pheonix.

The bird sored in the hall afew seconds later and touched down on her mistress shoulder, a second later they vanished in a flash of light.

*On the Rooftop*

Kiara reappeared on the Rooftop and looked around, her eyes taking a moment to reajust.

Then sight the greeted her made her pale, Ethen had not overexaterated... in fact she dared say he had not said the half of it.

She arrived to see Viper seemingly preparing to put a dagger in to her Heart... The very sight made her blood run cold.. She had no idea Viper was so deeply despressed... had she been so blind? to blinded by her own problems to see it?

"Oh Merlin.....Viper?" she said her voice barely above a whisper as she approched Ethen and Viper.

Hogwarts Rooftop ~ Late August 2028 Empty
PostSubject: Re: Hogwarts Rooftop ~ Late August 2028   Hogwarts Rooftop ~ Late August 2028 EmptySat Sep 04, 2010 5:34 pm

Ethan panicked when Viper screamed and backed away from him, quickly losing his grip on the wound she had given herself. And now, he noticed, it was more than just her wrist that was cut and bloodied. “Amaranth, please! I’m trying to help you!” he called out over the storm, carefully making his way toward her. His hands slick with her blood, Ethan fumbled with his pockets in search of his wand. “It’s Ethan, love. Please... This isn’t the answer – you’re going to bloody bleed to death if you won’t let me help!” In an effort to help without touching her again and making her fly further from him he cast spells to seal the cuts he could see before grabbing her wrist again.

"I don't want to do this anymore..."

Bespectacled brown eyes looked as though Viper had told Ethan that he himself only had days to live before purgers would come to torture and eventually kill him. In denial, the wizard shook his blond tresses vehemently. “You don’t mean that... you can’t mean that...” he murmured, utterly stunned. Taking her shivering for granted, Ethan placed about the best spell he could upon the carved letters that were upon her wrist. In truth, the spell was meant for caring for plants or hybridizing them, binding the wound to keep not only blood (or in a tree’s case, sap) from flowing out but preventing infection from creeping in. She would need professional help, but for the moment he hoped the spells he put in place would hold.

“Stay with me. Please, Amaranth, come on...” Ethan pleaded as her breathing became more difficult. Where the bloody hell was Sevastyan and a supply of emergency medical potions when he – or, rather, Amaranth – needed them?! “You have family and friends that love you. Don’t make them mourn you!” Noticing her leaning, Ethan took another step closer. He needed to get that dagger out of her hands, and get her to the hospital wing...

"I-I need to die, to feel alive..."

“No, you don’t... Help is what you bloody need, and in all honesty perhaps a twinge of marriage counseling...!” Ethan argued fiercely, though in reality knew he couldn’t dispute Viper’s own feelings for very long before eventually having to relent. The wizard was just frightened beyond all reason and had never run into anything like this, thus had no idea how to go about handling it. If she remembered the conversation and became angry with him once she was well again, he'd apologize, but for right now Ethan did not and could not take back his words.

A flash of light caught Ethan’s attention as the Headmistress and her phoenix arrived. Perhaps if the bird were willing, and Amaranth a bit moreso, the creature could give a few tears to heal the wounds he’d patched up but had not the time or opportunity yet to apply salve. “Thank Merlin! I was beginning to think... nevermind. She’s sliced her wrist, Kiara, and I did what I could but...” he trailed off when yet another sight caught his full and horrified attention.

Seeing the dagger on a lethal path to the witch’s heart, Ethan grabbed Viper’s wrist and tried to pull her arm away. The thought of vanishing or taking it from her with magic had not occurred to him. Once the dagger wasn’t near anything crucial he would try to take it from her, but for now it was safety first. “Daggers are very dangerous things, love...” he muttered, still trying to urge the dagger away and hoping against hope she wouldn’t do it.

Terrified eyes once again set themselves upon Kiara as she approached. “She’s lost a lot of blood... I don’t know what else to do. She didn’t even recognize me at first...” he explained in a rush that was between panicked and a helpless whine. “And this bloody dagger needs to go before she kills herself!”

Hogwarts Rooftop ~ Late August 2028 Empty
PostSubject: Re: Hogwarts Rooftop ~ Late August 2028   Hogwarts Rooftop ~ Late August 2028 EmptySat Nov 20, 2010 3:51 am

If the witch had thought she had hit rock bottom before, it was nothing compared to how she felt now. She heard and saw everything, yet at the same time nothing at all. The chanting was louder than ever... Do it! Do it! Do it now, you whore!!! One smooth, sweet stroke is all it takes... Their faces were persistent in their harshness and cruelty. They wouldn't leave unless she did as they commanded... Flying demons, circled around, all amuck... Like a vulture circling it's prey, waiting for the perfect time to strike, so too did they haunt the witch.

“It’s Ethan, love. Please... This isn’t the answer – you’re going to bloody bleed to death if you won’t let me help!”

Screams echoed through her in a grief-plagued cadence as she pulled away as hard as she could, struggling to get away, though sliding amidst her own blood. Noticing that an enchantment of sorts had been placed upon her cuts, she hissed. With an air of defiance and desperation, she cast another round of sectumpsempra upon herself, her now quivering hands desperately trying to etch more fatal cuts upon her frame. Upon her chest, just above the place where the shards of her broken heart lay, she began carving another word, this time in Russian: Blyad, russian swear word for whore. After all, that's what she was, was it not? Or at least, one of the forefront of descriptions that now could be used to accurately describe Amaranth Viper.

“Stay with me. Please, Amaranth, come on... You have family and friends that love you. Don’t make them mourn you!"

"No! No I don't I-I don't..." she whispered the last part in a defeated, broken tone, so unlike her once razor-sharp, rather egotistical confidence, that it could only be used to further illustrate how far she had fallen. “I don't have a family... I did, but... they're not mine anymore. As for friends... it's rather hard to have friends when you can barely even remember names!" she replied. "They won't mourn me... No one will..."

“No, you don’t... Help is what you bloody need, and in all honesty perhaps a twinge of marriage counseling...!”

Her mind flashed a myriad of images: memories, nightmares, thoughts... and everything in between. Vaguely, she wondered where Sevastyan was. More than likely, given the time, deep within his castle, sound asleep. The darker, hysteric part of her Huntington's-plagued mind wondered if perhaps there was someone with him. After all, technically, given their separation, he was a free agent... perhaps he was with another woman right now, taking advantage. Perhaps he would even laugh when he heard the antics she was up to, and cheer her on for easing the burden she left upon him.

Her logic, albeit a fading one, kicked in though, instantly aborting the thought. Not necessarily because she believed it to be false, but rather because she'd rather not experience a Cruciatus-like pain upon her heart once more, grinding the shards into a fine powder. A dry, harsh laugh escaped her as she shook her head. "To go through marriage counseling, I'd have to have a husband now, wouldn't I? One that didn't hate me." she looked around with sarcasm, shrugging and dryly replying. "Damn, I seem to be fresh out of those, don't I?"

“Daggers are very dangerous things, love...”

She was vaguely aware Kiara had appeared, but her thoughts died upon her as Ethan grabbed her arm once more. Again, she screamed in protest, struggling to get away and finished what she had started. While many things seemed to have faded from Amaranth Viper due to her illness, it seemed her determination had not. It could only be described as cruel irony and supremely unfortunate that the application of that determination

Lucidity seemed to grab a hold of Viper for a moment, as clarity and comprehension dimly flickered amidst dead, almost onyx-colored orbs that once shined brightly with euphoria. Still though, despite the clarity of the situation, the witch did nothing to relinquish her grip upon the blade. Her actions may be executed in a rather erratic matter, but it was clear that her motives were not linked to hysteria, or insanity, but rather a desperate means catalyzed by immense sorrow, heartache, and depression. Tears began to fall, mixing with blood and rain upon a pale, though by now with the tides -or rather, in Viper's case, typhoons- of time left with a hollow gauntness. It seemed she was starving herself of not only love, affection, happiness, and support, but adequate nourishment as well.

Desperate to end her depression, and knowing that with the appearance of her two friends, both of which who were perfectly fit and healthy and would easily take down Viper in her weakened state, she did the only thing she could do: plead.

"I can't! I-I can't do this anymore. I can't just keep living like this! E-Everyday, I get up, alone, I spend the day alone, and then, if I'm lucky enough to fall asleep, I do so alone." She bit her lip hard, struggling to form words through tears. "Do you know what it's like? To fall asleep on a bed and roll over to find no one there except a bitter coldness with the knowledge that someday soon, that's exactly how you'll die? Do you know what it’s like to awaken to empty silence, with nothing, no sounds of your children's feet running around, playing, or the sounds of laughter you've spent nearly a decade living to, and now can't seem to live without out? No! You don't!” she wept bitterly.

Please... If you had any compassion left within you two, you both would understand and leave me be... If I can't have my family back, just as it once was, then I want nothing at all. Just please, all I ask, and all I will ever ask of both of you is to let me die in dignity. Instead of some damn institution where I'm a helpless cripple unable to even stand by herself!"

Several shallow breaths, attempting to calm herself at least long enough to finish her thought. Pain-filled green eyes looked straight at both Kiara and Ethan's in a way that was rather reminscent of the strong woman she once was. "Would you condemn me to that life? A life of utter pain and loneliness?"

Hogwarts Rooftop ~ Late August 2028 Empty

Kiara walked up to the two slowly, and barely believing her eyes and ears for what she was seeing before her. But she had to believe it didn't she? for one more move from Vipers hand could end her life.. her friend and colleague for many years. No she couldn't end it like this, not in the deepest depths of despair.

“I don't have a family... I did, but... they're not mine anymore. As for friends... it's rather hard to have friends when you can barely even remember names! They won't mourn me... No one will..."

Kiara blinked and shock her head, she knew Amaranth would be mourned, not only by herself but Ethan her children, she didn't dare think of what would be left of Sevastyan if Amaranth died.. Sveta and Draco would... And though she loathed to admit it... Stefan would likely mourn the loss of their friend as well... at least that is what she gathered. She didn't trust the bastard as far as she could throw him, but he and Amaranth seemed to be actual friends.

"Many people would though..." she said softly, there was no doubt in her mind about that...

“She’s lost a lot of blood... I don’t know what else to do. She didn’t even recognize me at first... And this bloody dagger needs to go before she kills herself!”

Kiara nodded slightly and placed a hand on Ethan's shoulder though her eyes focused on Viper as she kneeled down, she quietly tried a healing spell on Vipers wounds, though she was met with no surprise to see it had no effect.

"I can't! I-I can't do this anymore. I can't just keep living like this! E-Everyday, I get up, alone, I spend the day alone, and then, if I'm lucky enough to fall asleep, I do so alone. Do you know what it's like? To fall asleep on a bed and roll over to find no one there except a bitter coldness with the knowledge that someday soon, that's exactly how you'll die? Do you know what it’s like to awaken to empty silence, with nothing, no sounds of your children's feet running around, playing, or the sounds of laughter you've spent nearly a decade living to, and now can't seem to live without out? No! You don't!”

Kiara listened as Viper seemed to spill out her pain before them, what Viper described was her personal worst possible nightmare. A Nightmare she had a taste of long ago, yet she had never fallen that far.. or this fast. But then she never had a illness who destroyed who you were inside. Guilt spread through her for not seeing or really understanding what Viper went through. Perhaps the merciful thing to do would be to let her go.. but it couldn't be like this

"Please...

"Would you condemn me to that life? A life of utter pain and loneliness?"

Kiara could honestly say she felt conflicted after hearing Vipers plea, not to say she was would actually let her go through with it if she could help it. No, there were other ways of solving this. There was one thing about Viper she never really understood, Why she only ever saw the darkest possible path the was to walk, why she always assumed the worst of everything.

"No Viper, I would not condemn anyone to that fate, but this fate.." she said softly motioning to the dagger. "I will not wish upon you either"

"I wouldn't be a good friend if I let you go through with this if it could be helped" she said her voice calm though her own hands were shaking... not knowing if her words would have any effect on Viper at all.

"In fact I got the feeling if we did let you do this you will hate us forever in the afterlife"she thought to herself just picturing a clear minded Amaranth Viper giving them her best hateful glare for letting her take her life like that.

Kiara bit her lip trying to think of something else to say that didn't sound condescending or would just make the situation worse.

"Viper I am sorry, I am sorry for everything that has happened if that means anything to you. But I can't..." She paused looking to Ethan..."We can't let you do this and you know it. Don't give up yet, not when not all is lost..." she trialed off, of course Viper thought all was lost, or else she wouldn't be in this predicament.

"Viper? What if this could be fixed, what if not all hope for this is lost? If you die you will never know, and any hope of recovery could will be lost. " Kiara said hoping at least something made sense to Viper, and she interpreted it the way she intended it to be received.

"Please Viper?" she asked in pleading tone not wanting another to die and most certainly not in this way...
