May I Have this dance?

The beautifly decorated ball room, go and ask your date to dance with you.

Darien and Celina entered.

Celina looked expectantly at Darien and he jolted his mind back to the present.

"Um...may I have this dance?" He felt stupid saying something so cliche...to Celina anyway.

"Oui."

They made their way to the middle of the dancefloor and Celina began to dance, Darien too distracted to lead properly. Celina didn't seem to mind though, as she kept up with the music easily, Darien somehow managing to keep in time, his mind elsewhere...

Boris extended his arm not covered by the cape-like portion of his dress-robes to Diana. "Shall ve honor this ball vith a dance?" he suggested with a fairly benign, pleasant smirk curling the left corners of his lips.

Diana smiled at Boris, and gave him her arm. "You don't look have bad yourself Boris and I'd love to dance."

Perhaps this was what she needed to get her mind off of certain things. She felt slightly guilty thinking about another while she had a date. She should focus all her attention on Boris, besides, he already had a date of his own.

Darien noticed Diana...and Boris.

He suddenly realised he was staring. He shook his head like a dog trying to clear it.

Celina had not missed this. "Dari?"

"Sorry...had um...brain freeze."

Celina made no comment and continued dancing, growing angry as Darien's gaze flickered over to Diana once more.

She'd need to get his attention back...and she knew exactly how...

Out of the corner of her eye, she saw a sight that she really didn't want to see. She turned her head to see Celina and Darien were dancing a few metres not to far from her.

Darien noticed Diana glance at him and Celina and immediatly broke his gaze, turning to gaze instead at Celina.

He smiled and muttered a joke, which Celina laughed at.

Out of the corner of his eye, he watched Diana for a reaction.

Diana saw Darien mutter something to Celina and heard Celina's giggle. She felt that unfamiliar stab in her heart that she'd just recently labelled jealousy.

She turned back at her own date and decided she wouldn't look at Darien and Celina anymore.

Darien glanced across at Diana again, and Celina was annoyed.

She moved both of Darien's hands to her waist and danced nearer to him, claiming his attention.

Darien felt awkward, and watched Diana out of the corner of one eye.

Diana saw Darien and Celina close the space between them. She took a sharp intake of breath and forced herself to not care.

Why should she care? They were broken up. Darien the right to dance with whom ever he wished. Even if that someone was a total dimbo... She turned her attention back at Boris.

"I thought you did brilliantly in the task by the way." Diana said forcing herself to ignore everything else around them. "I wanted to tell you earlier but I didn't get the chance."

Kiara's head jerked and she sent a glare to Lasharna's direction "and you can't seem to mind your own business" she thought. Sometimes she wished she didn't understand french. But she refused to let the french headmistress ruin the evening, so she let the statement go.


Kiara bowed her head low and smiled brightly, "I would love to my love" she said quietly in his ear. As she placed her arms on his shoulders.

"Will someone dance with me?''Becca asked.

"That's a boy." Becca said as she was hopping someone would ask her to.

Ciaran wrapped an arm around Kiara's waist as he swept her into a graceful waltz. "Ya dress is lovely, Ara. Yar a vision of blue flame." Sincerity shone in his azure eyes, as he dipped her back gently before bringing her back to stand straight. "Who er was saying that love is blind never saw ya, lass."

"I'w dawce wit you!" Edwin cheered happily, holding out his hands to Becca. He had heard her exclaimation and had decided to present himself as an option...he was a boy after all...
Then again he was only three years old, but that hardly changed anything.

Kiara couldn't help the blush that came to her face, at Ciaran's words. Maybe it was because she felt weightless in his arms. Perhaps it was from a little bit of both.

"I think your making me blush Love" she said quiety with a smile on her face.

She laughed lightly at his next statment.

"I don't think they meant it litteraly my Dear" she said as he lead her across the floor.

"You are a wonderful dancer," she said as she caressed his cheek. It was almost dream like, surreal as if she thought she would wake up at any moment.

Ciaran chuckled at Kiara's statement. "Wouldn't be wanting that know would I?" he jested, winking at her. His eyes sparkled with mirth as he twirled her around to the beat of the music. "I only be dancing well, because me arms be holding a forest flame nymph." he stated, drawing her closer to him. He gently kissed her cheek, before pressing his forehead against hers and sighing.
"Any more happiness and joy and I'll be flying, love."

Kiara smiled brightly, and allowed a small bit of her flame to become visible, it held no heat, only light.

She was light headed, but not overly so, just from the spinning she suspected.

The blush was still on her face, he had such a way with words, his voice touched her heart and warmed it even more.

"You have such a way with words, I feel as light as a feather hearing your voice, looking in to those sparking eyes of yours. The reason I am like this at is because of you" she whispered looking into his eyes.

"You have captured my heart, and I must say it is quite happy in your possession"

Kissing him on the cheek as well she whispered " I love you, with all of my heart, Ciaran McConn. It will forever will be yours"

"Ya have quite a way with words yaself, Ara." he murmured, looking into her dark eyes. "And that inner beauty of yars... is only one of the many things I'm loving about ya." He brought her chin up slightly and kissed her full on the mouth. His dancing came to standstill as he passionately kissed the love of his life.

Kiara melted into him and kissed her fiance back, she didn't really care if they were in the middle of the crowed dance hall.

Really it wasn't like it was secret or anything that they were together, and for those that didn't know they would certainly know now.

To take a breath to air her pulled her head away and smiled up at him.

"And you have a gentle, loving soul, it is one of the reasons I fell in love with you so quickly" she breathed out as she softly ran she hand down his cheek.

"When do you want to get married?" she asked quietly so no one else could eavesdrop.

"We haven't really talked about that yet" she said she arms now draped over the back of his neck, as they swayed to the music in the background.

"Aye, did it seem quick ta ya lass?" Ciaran muttered, chuckling slightly as he continued their waltz. "Ta me it was a lost moment that lasted an eternity." He twirled her around to the flow of the music.

"And whenever ya be wanting to wed, I'm ready to agree with ya, Ara. We can talk about it any time ya want."

Kiara smiled as she enjoyed the dance in silence for a moment.

"I think.... I want to meet your parents, and perhaps the rest of your family first, before we decide anything" she said.

Truth be told she was nervous about meeting his parents. She hadn't meet a the parents of her ex. They had died years before she met Daniel.

"Will... will they be alright with this? with our sudden engangment I mean...?" she asked quietly.

Boris nodded his thanks to the compliment and led Diana in a waltz. From his place in the middle of Diana and Darien's breakup, the Russian teen couldn't help but visibly show discontent and anger on Diana's behalf. Of course, Boris had employed the same technique once or twice before as well so he wasn't quite as innocent as all that. A thought occurred to him of cuffing the other boy on the head or tripping him up should they so much as attempt to get within range...

Diana's conversation starter jolted him from refining the idea. "Thank you. I heard you did vell, also. Vish I could have seen it from the beginning, but..." Boris replied, and then paused. "I vos being tended to, you might say." A quiet chuckle escaped his lips. The broken bones had long since been mended, with a bit of magical assistance.

"Interesting clue for us to riddle out, vouldn't you say?"

Darien was completely distracted, glaring at Boris and staring at Diana alternately.

Celina fumed silently. Why was Darien so interested in staring over there?!

Then she had an idea.

Smirking slightly, she tapped Darien on the shoulder.

Darien, distracted from his distractedness, turned back to Celina. That was when she kissed him.

"Yes, quite... I've come to a bla..." Blank she was about to say, however, she was caught in mid-sentence when her gaze fell to a sight behind Boris.

Darien was kissing Celina... Darien was kissing Celina...

There was a very sharp pain that went to her heart.

"Boris, I'm so sorry I have to go..." she muttered to Boris lamely as her vision blurred. She turned away and went for the door.

Darien jerked away from Celina. "What the-"

Celina's pride was stung. "Dari, what iz-"

Darien's head snapped round to notice Diana leaving. Without thinking, he ran across the room after her.

He was such an idiot...he cursed as he ran after Diana.

"Dari! Dari!" Celina screeched. Darien didn't even notice, as he hurtled after Diana.

Ashamed, Celina flounced to the corner of the room, tears forming in her eyes.

But these were tears of anger...

Darien ran as fast as he could, trying to follow Diana.

Boris raised a brow when Diana had paused in mid-sentence. Was she alright? To his recollection, he hadn't done anything wrong. He wasn't stepping on her toes, or holding her too tightly...

Words failed him in trying to figure out why Diana had to leave. Did she find out about something from one of his mates? Not that there was much to tell, really. If so, he was going to kill the boy responsible... Conquistador or not. It couldn't have been Nick, but if it was he supposed he could cut his best friend some slack. Diana was the other boy's cousin, after all.

It was only after he caught someone running after her from the corner of his eye that Boris understood. The sturdy nose wrinkled with anger as a scowl formed on his face. With long, bold strides Boris followed and hoped he would remain unnoticed by both.
