History:
Melinda was born in the village of seimei by her parents Cortuko and Renala Lockhart. The night was clear and cloudless with the stars twinkling above in the night sky. When suddenly Renala felt a pain and she knew it was time to have the baby. There where too far from a local hospital, so they decided to try their luck at giving birth alone. There where successful as their knew bundle of joy was brought into the world and surrounded by the gleam of the Autumn’s moon. She was the cutest baby born. She had the tiniest of fingers and the most beautiful emerald green eyes. Her parents where so happy that they decided to name her after Rennala’s mother calling her Melinda.
Melinda was a good child, but not that talkative like most children where her age. She was much more comfortable by herself than in a group of people. She would study the night away and people would often call her the midnight owl as she would stay up all night just gazing out to the stars. She became a night owl and never slept during the nights and most people thought she was an insomniac, but she was not she just didn’t want to sleep. She felt spiritually connected to the starlight that she felt she would live better in the stars.
Her life as a child was very sheltered, but not because of her parents, but because she choose to be at home, she wasn’t a social type and preferred to keep quiet, so even when around people she would just fade into the corner. How she was able to live her life happy was beyond her parents, but they supported her anyways. Her room became filled with books about ninja arts and history that she ended up being one of the smartest children in the village when it came to book smarts. She almost got a new nickname for it, but no one could forget her nights studying out in the starlight.
When she got to the age of eleven she had received a letter from an owl that was flying by her window in her room. The letter was made out of really dense paper and was written in emerald green ink. Upon inspection of the letter Melinda noticed it was sealed with wax to keep it closed. After ripping the letter upon Melinda came across a parchment saying that she was to attend Hogwarts school of witchcraft and wizardry. Melinda was a bit confused as she had never heard of a school like this, but she thought maybe it would be fun. So the days went by and Melinda was visited by a witch who didn’t tell Melinda her name. All she said was to follow her to get her school supplies. Melinda followed and was lead to a place called Diagon Alley. This was the center of all wizard shopping where students could not only buy their school supplies, but also were other witches and wizards could buy stuff of their choice. The first place Melinda visited was a place Melinda didn’t see the name too, but it was where she was fitted for her clothes in Hogwarts. The second place was oleander’s wand shop. Melinda was to find her wand which didn’t take long it was a cherry wood wand with the core of a unicorn hair at 8 ¾ inches. The third place they visited Melinda went alone while the other woman went to buy the rest of her school supplies. The shop was Eelops Owl Emporium so Melinda could have an owl to send letters to her family and other students when on summer vacation. Melinda had picked out a owl that seemed to like to peck at her a lot which she thought was cute. Melinda then met up with the witch with the rest of her supplies and they headed back to Melinda’s home where she would wait out the days until she would get on the Hogwarts express.
The day had come when Melinda would have to go on the Hogwarts Express which would take her to Hogwarts. Of course Melinda had her parents drive her to the train station, but upon arrival Melinda noticed that the train she was to go on was not there. Platform 9 ¾ was nowhere in sight al Melinda could see was platform 9 and platform 10. As a muggle-born Melinda didn’t know how to get on the platform. Melinda became worried as she was now either going to miss the train or she would look like an idiot who was tricked into a prank. Melinda’s head had drooped down until she saw what looked like other kids that might be going to Hogwarts. As Melinda watched the kids she noticed they were running into a wall between platform 9 and 10. Confused Melinda blinked a bit and some of the kids were gone, as for where they were she didn’t know. The other kids also started to run, but this time Melinda didn’t blink she kept her eyes peeled on them and saw them disappear in a wall. Shocked Melinda couldn’t believe at what had just happened, but if this was the way to platform 9 ¾ she had to try it, so she took her stuff and ran straight at the same wall that the other children had run through and next thing she knew she was facing a crimson read train with a sign saying she was on platform 9 ¾. Melinda was in awe at what was going on that she forgot she had to pack her stuff on the train. Melinda quickly made sure everything was packed and went inside the train to look for a cart that was free of people so she could sit down. The train then speed off to Hogwarts and Melinda was alone in her cart staring out the window looking at the many land features speed off past the train.
Melinda arrived at Hogwarts like may first year students taking a boat across the lake to the school and she was escorted to the great hall where she would be sorted into a house by the sorting hat. Melinda among a few other kids was sorted into the Ravenclaw house that was said to house the most brilliant minds of the school. Melinda among many other students had a normal routine life in Hogwarts. Wake up, go to breakfast, have class, have lunch, go to class, dinner, then bed. It was an average life for Melinda, but she loved it any ways. Over her years in Hogwarts she was the same as always and until she graduated noting changed. When she graduated from Hogwarts she became an independent witch looking for someone to help. She loved helping people no matter who they were, but it wasn’t until she found Gilderoy Lockhart she found her soul purpose. She had found out he lost his memory after teaching Defense Against the Dark Arts. Intrigued Melinda not only got married to Lockhart, but also applied for a teaching job in Hogwarts. Melinda applied for the position of Divination as when she was young she had always loved to know the future through the cosmos of stars.
