Hall in front of office

Kiara laughed lightly "It seems differnent to me though, I helped you un Eglantine nothing more"

"But it was so much more, Kiara. It was something I could not do alone." She said very seriously.

Kiara sighed "Oh....Are you sure the is no way for you to walk again? or the a chance it might not be full damage?" she asked.

Eglantine bit her lip. "Esis has been speaking to a doctor at St. Mungos, who believes there has been permanent damage since the hip broke again, this time in three different places. Plus there was the rib injuries and the nervous damage. What time cannot mend, mankind will learn to bend." She repeated a phrase her father stated often. It meant basically that what did not heal or fix itself naturally could often be either ignored or fixed by other means.

"There is a way to restore my nervous control. But the walking will take more time. Patience has forever been a loyal friend of mine." She smiled. "I will walk again."

Kiara gave a small smile, "I will help you in anyway I can...as usual. This time I hope you will take me up on my offer to help"

"I think I will this time." Eglantine stated softly. "But there is another thing that has been on my mind. Do you play any games that do not require extreme risks, such as flying, dueling and dodging punches? I would not mind a friendly game or two of something more mild in the evenings, perhaps once or twice a week. That way we would be able to watch each other without going out of our way."

KIara smiled there was only one game that Eglantines discription.

"How does, a game of chess with cup of tea sound to you?" she asked.

"Lovely. It is quite chilly you know." She stated, glancing down the hallway.

Kiara nodded and then her head snapped up as if she just remembers something.

"Oh that reminded me, I got you something... call it a belated birthday present" she said with a smile as she handed Eglantine a package wraped in cream white paper and a blue ribbon.

On the package was a card it read..

"To My friend Eglantine Delanquar.

You should have told me it was your bithday, I could have had you birthday owls sent to your quarters instead of the great hall, silly.

Hope you find your present useful it was extremely fun to make, enjoy.

Eglantine smiled as she read the card. She would keep it to remind her that her birthdays were not all bad...

"Thank you." she murmured. "Shall I open it?" she asked, not sure whether or not to open the gift in front of Kiara. As a child she had never received presents and she knew it was rude in several cultures to open gifts around people, even if it was the giver.

Kiara smiled and nodded, "Please do"

Inside was a black shall, with a Pheonix threaded with blue thread. Charmed in the faderic was a cat that looked remarkably like "Lenty" and moving around the outer rim of the faberic was a back panther with glowing blue eyes.

Eglantine gasped. "It is lovely, Kiara!" she stammered. "You made it yourself? Thank you." A lone tear trickled down her cheek. The last present she had gotten from anyone had been from Richard.
Moving the wheelchair forward, she pulled Kiara into an embrace. "You have no idea how much this means to me." she whispered.

Kiara smiled and returned the embrace, "You are very welcome"

And she locked over at the shall she smiled again.

"Let me tell you about it, the thread is made with my own magic, it will keep you warm, to your own preference it won't get to hot if you don't want to"

"It sounds lovely." Eglantine nodded, wondering what had inspired Kiara to make a shawl for her. Then again, it was November and chilly besides. "Thank you again." Once again she glanced down the hallway.

Kiara nodded "Want to come in to my office we can have that tea I promised?"

What she didn't say there was there was also several protection chams on it.

"Yes, that would be nice." Eglantine nodded.

((To the office?))

((Afew weeks later Daniel attempt at revenge))

Danial remaind hiddin behind a statue he waited there for hours it seemed, but he didn't move a musle until Kiara stepped out of her office.

Then he acted.

Casting a silencing charm on his fromer Wife Danial grabed her from behind and pushed her into the wall.

To say Kiara was surprised was understatment and she quick tried to sheild herself.

But Danial grabbed her wrist tightly and spell them together. "You will pay" he whispered to her.

Then he muttered "Curcio"

Kiara doubled over and was clearly screaming but no sound came from her mouth.

Picking her up Danial placed his hand on her neck and began to squeeze.

Kiara looked paniced, she couldn't breathe, she surrunded her self in fire hoping it would make him stop.

Daniel laughed. "You really think I wouldn't block that? Silly girl"

Kiara was getting desperate but the curcio had fried her nerves making it hard to do magic or concentrate.

She thought in her mind useing legimency as best her could to reach anyone "Somebody please help me, merlin help me"

Sevastyan had been on his way from his office when a thought that was not his own entered his head... "Somebody please help me, merlin help me"

The Russian wizard and Defense professor stopped in his tracks, recognizing the Headmistress's voice. Thinking for a moment about which floor he was on, Sevastyan doubled back to where Kiara's office was located in an all-out run. It seemed like the most logical place for her to be. Silently, he thanked Merlin for whatever wisdom had possessed him not to wear anything with fur on it today or he'd be drenched in sweat.

Arriving on the scene, Sevastyan felt the coarse hairs on the back of his neck stand up with alarm. "Достаточно! Кто **** вы думает вы?!" Sevastyan bellowed at the man in Russian, wand drawn, completely caught off guard by the sight. Without waiting for an answer, Sevastyan uttered a curse low in his throat that would separate this strange man from his stranglehold on Kiara.

"I SAID ENOUGH! Who the **** do you think you are?!" Sevastyan commanded, wand trained on his target and a fierce scowl pressing his thin lips into a small, remarkably straight line. Though the irises of his eyes were clearly a light smoky gray, his countenance was so grave and so dark that it was difficult to tell where the kind-hearted Russian man had disappeared to. He still had to be in that head somewhere, though, for he slowly wedged himself into the few feet of space between assailant and victim. If he wanted Kiara, then the man would have to go through Sevastyan first. And Sevastyan had no intention of letting this man just walk away... in fact, it would be a miracle if walking would even be a realistic possibility for Kiara's attacker. Sevastyan loathed those of his own gender that stooped to such a low level as to take out their anger on a woman, and after having been here for a few months he'd grown rather fond of the colleagues he'd gotten to know. None of them were coming to harm - not on his watch!

Kiara gassped as Daniels hold was relesed and her hand were freed. She was still finding it hard to breathe, but she knew Daniel had gone crazy he no care for the law any more. If he could use the curcio then may use other dark curses as well..

Rasing her hand she brougt up a sheild around her and Sevastyan.

"I am Daniel Lestrange, has Kia not told you about me? She USED to be my wife... I am here to do what should have done weeks ago." he hissed.

He rasied his wand "Sectumsempra!" the curse refected off Kiara's shield.

Kiara fliched but held it up.

"Be.... careful....Sevastyan..... he has..........lost it"

Sevastyan barely blinked when the shield was put up. In fact, it almost didn't even look like he was breathing - but he was. It had been a good decade since he'd had to let this side of himself out of its figurative cage. And, as it so happened, it was glad to be freed for a time. Judging by Kiara's position before he'd arrived, it looked as though the Cruciatus Curse had been used. Well, now, if he wanted to play, Sevastyan was more than ready to play just as rough!

He heard the words from Lestrange's lips, but he would not react to them. It was clear this lunatic would not leave if asked nicely, so focused was he on this mission of his. Fine by Sevastyan: seeing as how this was self-defense, he could use some of the less-than-legal spells without repercussion.

A raven brow quirked upward at the choice of spell, almost as if it were child's play. However, in making a move to deflect it, the shield had done the job for him. The grin that played across Sevastyan's face allowed a few teeth to be bared: it was his turn now. He wouldn't use an unforgivable yet, but he was close to having the necessary mental preparations set.

"Use the shield for yourself, Headmistress. I vill not be needing it," Sevastyan told Kiara, though did not take his eyes off of Lestrange. The words were neither harsh or gentle. To prove his point, a dark grayish-black shield almost resembling a cloud of black smoke encased him, though he could see his target quite easily, and vice versa. What Daniel probably failed to realize was that Sevastyan was a lefty: the Russian held his wand firmly in his non-dominant hand...

*Levicorpus....* Sevastyan thought, giving his wand a sudden jerking command to lift the subject upward, hearing a wooden instrument clatter to the floor. "People like you disgust me... thinking you own the lives of everything you touch," he said aloud, voice going from bassoon to an even deeper, almost demonic timbre toward the last few syllables. Without warning, Sevastyan thought the countercurse and Daniel dropped back to the floor.

"You know, I have felt the pain of Cruciatus before... exquisitely painful..." the Russian remarked calmly, voice once again normal and with an air as if discussing the weather. "...like my whole body vos on fire... INCENDIO!" he bellowed, though silently cast an additional spell to prevent the flames from spreading anywhere else except for their initial target.

Kiara closed her eyes agaisnt Daniel's screams but she did nothing to stop Sevastyan. She could hardly breathe for one and two she knew her Ex deserved it..

Saturn was at the window and she was a blaze as well with blue fire.

Kiara's eyes glowed when Daniel attempted to put out the magical fire that was burning him with water. Kiara made the water he used so hot it vaporized on contact with the flames. It was ovious the pheonix had take over her mistress's mind to protect her as Kiara face was blank as she stared at the scene.

Daniel have given up trying to put the fire out with water and was now sudsequently rolling the ground tring to get the flames out.

Finally he got them out and he painfully stood up to dark insane gleam in his eyes.

"Confringo!!"

Then as if the mock his opponate as cast "Curcio!" back in Kiara's direction.

The Curcio hit Kiara, she tensed but didn't scream as she was no longer in her own frame of mind, she didn't fell the pain of the curse.

Kiara's eyes flashed and Daniel was thrown against the wall very roughly, Danial stummled as his head smack into the wall.

Turning her head to Sevastyan she gave her head a slight nod as if saying "Do what you want with him"

Kiara eyes then went back to normal as she slumped against the wall.

The pupils of Sevastyan's eyes turned to pinholes upon hearing the spell. His shield prevented much of it, but the spell still knocked him into the wall and onto his knees. He shook his head to clear the spots from his vision, and jumped back up to his feet almost in the style of a Cossack dance.

It would have been dangerous to take his eyes off of Daniel, but he listened to Kiara's words. Do what he wanted with him? A tempting offer. And, considering what Sevastyan just witnessed here, he would not allow himself to hesitate. He absently switched his wand from his right hand to his left.

"Sectumsempra!" Sevastyan cried, aiming between Daniel's wrist and elbow on his wand hand. An amputation was still mild compared to the Cruciatus.

"Votever business you have vith your ex-vife..." he growled, the words approximately the pitch of a bass singer, "... you now have vith me. Tell me, Daniel, are you indeed alvays this cowvardly?" Sevastyan's upper lip quivered upward in a snarl. "...To harm a voman ven she is incapacitated? tsk tsk tsk... The man is nothing more than a boy, it vould seem."

For five seconds, which seemed like five hours, Sevastyan fought with himself over what to do. He wanted to make Daniel suffer for trying to harm, if not outright kill, Kiara. But, on the other hand, a part of him felt that the deed should be over and done with. It would be cleaner, that way: no screams, no pleas for help the man didn't deserve to receive: nothing.

Sevastyan Kaminski squeezed his eyes shut... 'I do this to protect you, Headmistress. Please realize this, and forgive me.' he thought, almost like a prayer, before opening his eyes again. They were icily cold and cruel, as far away from compassion as they could go; alight with a fire that had not surfaced in its entirety for a good eleven years. Lestrange was out of his head, and the survival of Kiara and Sevastyan himself seemed dependent upon getting rid of the man once and for all. A brief thought did go to the possibility of Daniel having a family... just like Nikolai Kaminski had had: a mother, a father, and a girlfriend had been left to mourn the loss. Sevastyan's options were few, and he didn't like it, but right now it was absolutely necessary. The fate of Daniel Lestrange was both in and out of Sevastyan's hands...

"Silencio..." he whispered, making sure that Daniel - like Kiara - would not be able to verbally cry for help. And really, who would listen to a strange voice asking for help? With Sevastyan's current mindset, no one in their right mind would heed such a plea. Looking down upon Daniel, Sevastyan had a countenance of revulsion etched on his face. The man disgusted him to no end. It would work to the curse's advantage.

"Any last vords?" Sevastyan asked, with a slight laugh at the irony of the situation, before taking aim. "МУЧЕНИЕ ДО СМЕРТИ НЕ БУДЕТ ПОЛУЧАТЬ ВАС!" he cried, the syllables blending together swiftly and darkly, without waiting for Daniel to even attempt to form a singe syllable. It was a Russian combination of the Cruciatus and Avada Kedavra curse... under the radar of the Ministries for Magic. It was a dark curse created by one of the most hated and admired Kaminskis of relatively modern history: Igor Borisyevich Kaminski; Sevastyan's great-grandfather. It was a right of passage of sorts for all of his descendants to be taught this curse when they reached the age of 18. The only thing was, it was a very tiring incantation.

Once the deed was done, Sevastyan half-ran to the Headmistress and knelt beside her. "Headmistress?" he asked and gently pulled up on one eyelid and then the other to check her eyes. "Kiara?!" he called again, a little more desperately, mind racing as he delved into a pocket of his robes for a potion. He wasn't going to take any chances on relying on someone else for help... Sevastyan needed to act now, transport and find help later.

Producing a dark glass phial of liquid, Sevastyan popped off the cork and held it out to Saturn. "Vould you mind?" he asked, assuming the bird knew he was asking for a tear or two. Or three... whatever she felt like donating for the sake of her mistress.

Saturn looked at Kiara, she had burise around her neck and even though she had not actually felt the effect of the last curcio she would feel the after effect later.

Plus she was praticaly unable to breathe, with nearly being strangled and two curcios she was in bad shape.

Saturn tilted her head and let 5 tears drop into the phial.

Letting out a thrill Saturn let him know that would be more then enough to bring life back to Kiara.

"Thank you, my feathered friend," Sevastyan replied, the 'darker half' of his personality shunted aside as he held the phoenix-tear-infused potion up as if in a toast. Placing his finger over the top and he gave it a little shake in order to mix in the new ingredient. Sevastyan was slightly unsure how to administer the potion, but decided that when a life is on the line then a phrase along the lines of 'beggars can't be choosers' applied here.

Being as gentle as possible, Sevastyan placed the pad of his thumb at the natural indent between her lower lip and chin and pulled downward to open her mouth just wide enough for the potion to slip through. He assumed she was sufficiently propped up against the wall to not require any further posturing assistance, though cautiously tilted her head backward slightly - avoiding where she'd clearly been choked so as not to frighten her - in the hopes to induce swallowing. That would likely call for bruise-healing paste or balm ... something he had in his chambers and office, but not on his person.

Sevastyan just hoped the newly-enhanced healing potion he did have on hand would do it's job, and soon....

((In side Kiara's mind))

Kiara saw darkness,"Well that was pathetic... he diabled me so easily" kiara thought darkly. As she held a small flame, her life.. and it was sufficating.

"How easily he can kill me..... pathetic... I hope Sevastyan gave him hell"

Then a beam of light entered the void and fed the starving flame until it was a blaze again.

The darkness evaporated and Kiara felt her self be pulled back into the waking world.

((Now the real world))

Kiara caughed as she gassped for air, quite painfully at first, but what ever potion she had been givin worked rapidly and it became easier to breathe.

Opening her eyes saw Sevastyan in front of her and a quick glance over she saw Daniels body a ways away and her eyes widened for a second. She turned her head back to Sevastyan.

"Is..is he dead" she asked quietly almost as if she wasn't sure she should ask such a question. Had he really killed him? or would he be offended she had asked such a thing.

"I am sorry, he took me by surprise, and he never lost it like that before.... I couldn't do anything, he knew what I would do before I did it..... I am sorry I dragged you into this...I." she stopped and hid her face.
