The Rose Bushes

Diana took a few steps back and disreguarded the branch. She bowed her head slightly, her eyes downcasted. When she looked up, a fresh set of tears trickled down her cheeks. She wiped them off hastily, slightly angry at herself for being so weak. What she felt when she saw Darien and Celina kissing... Well she couldn't even describe it. She felt an immense amount of jealousy - it was almost overwhelming, she felt an immense amount of hate - she just wanted to hit something repeatedly until it turned into a bloody pulp, but most of all she felt an immense amount of hurt - it felt like a thousand needles pierced her heart a thousand times, it felt like she was drowning and she couldn't breathe, it hurt like hell.

She reversed the spell and let Darien move once again. "What do we do now Darien?" She asked softly.

"Um..."

Darien stretched his numb arm and shrugged.

"An excellent question."

He stepped nearer to Diana.

Diana felt him approach. She wanted to increase the distance between them but she found her legs just wouldn't move...

Instead, Diana keep her eyes on the snow covered ground.

"Diana?"

Darien reached out a hand and lifted her chin so she was looking at him instead of the ground.

"Is the ground that much sexier than me?"

He paused. "Actually, don't answer that."

"Right now," Diana said staring up at him. "I don't hate the ground."

Darien swallowed. "You hate me?"

"Is there any way you'll stop hating me?...Please?" Darien pleaded.

Diana turned away from him and with her back to him she said. "Yes, there is."

She rounded back at him and shouted "Aguamenti!" her wand aim right at Darien's mouth.

Darien yelped as his mouth was flooded with water. Stumbling backwards, he slipped over onto his back.

Swallowing most of the water, the remainder covering his face and collar, he shook his head from side to side like a dog.

"Okay, but I should warn you, that will probably make me smell like wet dog."

"Do you still want to throw yourself in the middle of the lake?" Diana questioned him.

"...Not as much." Darien smiled slightly. "In fact, not really much at all."

"...Do you still hate me?" Darien asked in return.

"Yess..." And with that she wrapped her arms around his neck at kissed him. It was impulsive and filled with emotion and before he could react she pulled away. "I hate you so much...."

Darien blinked...Several times.

"I don't hate you." He grinned, raising one hand to her cheek. "In fact, I'm pretty sure I love you."

He turned slightly pink, and then became even more embarassed that he was slightly pink, and so turned a darker shade of pink.

He sighed inside. Why was embarrasment so goddam inconsiderate?

She hit him lightly on the chest. "I don't forgive you."

"I don't blame you." Darien grinned, kissing her gently.

Diana closed her eyes and kissed Darien back.

Darien pulled away for air. "So...I don't have to be a jealous idiot any more?"

((Aww...I feel sorry for Boris. ))

((S'okay he's got a new love interest... *winks* ))

"No, because jealous idiots end up in the bottom of the Lake." Diana said as she used her wand to dry Darien's clothes off.

"Thanks." Darien glanced at his now dry robes.

"I really should've brought my wand, but these dress robes don't have pockets. I blame my father. He never did trust me with pockets after I dropped one tiny little dungbomb at his posh dinner party...You'd think it was a crime..." He grinned.

"Well I had to wash your mouth, you didn't think I'd let you kiss me after you kissed that french witch, did you?" The way she said witch made you think she meant a different word.

Darien gagged. "She kissed me, and I was planning to wash my mouth out anyway. She is french after all."

"Why did you ask her then?" Diana repeated her question from earlier. But she already knew the answer. Celina was taller, prettier and not to mention, a Pure-blood.

"Because I...I..." Darien sighed. "I didn't want to turn up on my own. And I knew she'd say yes."

Diana sighed. "I'm sorry Darien... I didn't mean to... to hurt you..."

"S'Okay. And I didn't mean to hurt you...And I definately didn't mean to try and jump in a lake."

"Just don't okay?" Diana said in a slightly panicked voice. "I don't know what I'll do with out you..."
