Dormitories

Here the Gryffindor's sleep...or prepare to sleep

"Diana, what in Merlin's name are doing?" Helena, for the past 15 minutes had been trying to sleep, however, the constant shuffling of shelves in Diana's side of the room had been a pretty good deterent.

"My..." Diana said rummaging through her clothes. "My locket! I can't find it!"

"You mean the family heirloom thing?" Helena said.

"Yes!" Diana said rather frustratedly. "The one that I always wear! I can't find it!"

"Wear did you see it last?" Helena said.

"On my neck?" Diana snapped. "Helena, I can't lose it!"

"Didn't you feel it drop somewhere?" Helena said.

"No!" Diana said throwing quills around. "GAH! It's not here!"

And with that Diana left the dormitories.

Zabby was walking up the steps, nose in a book. Captain's Fury by Jim Butcher. Something knocked into her. She looked up. "Diana? What's wrong? What happened? Anything I can help with?"

But Diana had already left.

"I don't know, I think she lost her locket." Helena said shrugging.

Zabby frowned. "What did it look like? Maybe I can look for it. Did she ever think of a summoning charm?"

"I think so..." Helena said shrugging. "She'll usually pragmatic about these things."

Zabby nodded. "Make sense. If you need help looking for it..."

((Alright new time line for this one... Helena is no longer here and like the Dormitories is empty....))

The door whooshed opened and a very distraunt Diana collapse on her bed.

Zabby walked up, dead tired. She saw Diana on her bed. "Diana? What's wrong?" she sat on her friend's bed and waited to be told what was wrong.

"I did..." she said muffled, her was buried on the pillow. "Something stupid!"

Zabby slapped the back of Diana's head. "Sit up, please. And tell me what's wrong. Maybe I can help fix it."

Diana breathed and considered Zabby's logic. She sat up. "I ..." She swallowed and decided to tell it all in one go. "told-a-boy-from-Durmstrang-that-I'd-go-to-the-ball-with-him!"

Zabby sighed. This was worse that she expected. "Who?"

She wanted to rub her eyes. "Diana, I'm guessing you won't back out and I'm also guessing Darien isn't happy?"

"Gah!" Diana hit herself with a pillow. "It's all his fault! He's so... impossible!"

Zabby grinned in her mind but didn't let it show. "I wouldn't know...I'm not dating him. Nor any one else for that matter..." She got back on topic. "Are you going to apologize, Diana?"

Diana sputtered. "Apologize? It's his fault! I was going to tell Boris no!"

Zabby pulled back slightly. "So I take that as a no? And, how would you deal with this normally?"

"What do you mean..." Diana asked confused. "...normally?"

Zabby sighed. "In a situation with Darien. If something happened. I have to wonder though. Did he say something to you?"

"Well..." Diana looked uncertained. "Well alright... what I did was slightly petty... but he was talking to me as if he didn't know me! I mean after all we've been through!"

Zabby put a hand oh Diana's shoulder. "What did he say, if I can ask? How was he talking? Do Darien and I need to have a chat...?" she asked, jokingly makinf her left hand, her stong hand, into a fist.

"He implied that I was going to lie to him!" Diana said astounted. "Can you believe that? He didn't even consider the possibility that I'd decline Boris' offer!"

Zabby was shocked. "He thought you would lie to him...? The--" she cut herself off. She didn't want to offend her friend. "Didn't even think about it...?"

Maybe she and Darien WOULD have to have that talk...

"Zabby," Diana said in alarm reaching out. "I don't know what happened... I mean about us... have we..." broken up? Diana couldn't say it.

Zabby touched Diana's hand. "I don't want to say anything rude...But... Could it be time for a break? Again...This might not be the right thing to say..."
