A corner of the library in the far back

Raven was in the back of the library studying and taking notes for her classes. She wanted to have pure silence in the library, but that didn't happen since she could still hear voices from the back of the library. She could hear bits of conversations that she could care less about and it was getting on her nerves. She tried to ignore them, but it failed horribly and she was about to get up and leave.

''Hi Raven,'' Joan said as she came walking up to her.

Raven looked up when she heard a voice addressing her. She noticed Joan, the new Ravenclaw 1st year, approached her. It was surprising to her since no one really went up to her.

"Um...hi...?" She looked up at Joan with a puzzled face. She was slightly irritated that she was being distracted by her studies.

"I'm sorry to distract you but, I heard a lot about you," Joan replied as she sat down by Raven. "Anyways how are you, and what are you studying?'' Joan asked.

Raven was even more surprised when Joan just told her that she was being talked about, I guess since she is a 7th year.

"I'm fine I suppose, I'm studying for Defense Against the Dark Arts right now," She replied to Joan's question.

"Really? Thats very cool, So wanna be friends?'' Joan just asked randomly.

Raven didn't know what to say to the 'being friends' part. She really didn't have any friends besides Juria. Would it be a mistake to become friends with this Ravenclaw? Or would it actually help her recover from what has happened in the past. She gave it great thought and sighed.

"I suppose," she replied to the younger Ravenclaw.

Joan was very happy to hear this. When she came here alot of the Slytherins were mean to her. At least she's friends with one now. "Thats great!'' Joan yelled excitely. "So what do you want to do?" Joan asked. She was so happy to hear that she was friends with Raven.

The excitement from Joan made Raven sigh and shake her head. "Well I suppose I could stop studying since it is to noisy in her from everyone else, so what ever you want to do."

Raven began putting away her notes into her bag so she could hang out with her new friend she randomly made. It was quiet awkward, but she hopes she could learn to open up instead of having herself bottled up and being mean all the time. She knows she is a Slytherin but the only reason why she is a Slytherin is because of how her mother treated her.

Joan smiled. "Well, I don't know what we can do," Joan said. Joan thought she was annoying Raven.

"Well... we can..." Raven thought for a moment she really didn't know what to do. All she does is read, study or walk around the grounds. She didn't know what to do with her new friend.

"Well I don't mind what we do really, but we must be careful where we go those dementors are around the castle like crazy," Raven explained looking out the window watching the grounds ice up from the eerie looking dementors luring around.

"Wanna walk around?'' Joan asked.

"Sure I suppose," Raven said. She stood up and put her bag over her shoulder and waited for her friend to stand up. "Ok so where do you want to go first?"

Joan thought for a moment and then stood up. "Maybe we should......I actually don't know, like I said, i'm new here i don't really know my place around,'' Joan answerd.

Raven stared down at Joan, she was tiny compared to Raven. "Ok then we could go visit the lake if you want, just make sure your close by dementors are everywhere," Raven said.

She took out her wand walked out of the library with Joan and headed off to the lake.
