Detentions (RPG)

Eglantine stepped into the potions classroom and made her way over to the dirty chalkboard. Pulling an embroidered handkerchief from her pocket, she began to wipe it clean.

"Dry dusting ruins the board. You're pressing all the fibers deep into the crevices, weakening the structure." Viper snapped her fingers summoning a small vile of dark blue liquid. "I always use this for my boards" she said coolly, tossing it to Eglantine.

"It is already wet, Professor." Eglantine retorted, casting a spell to make the vile float over to her, as she probably would have missed catching it. But to make her point, she dropped a few drops on the handkerchief and continued cleaning the board.

"Small circles, Professor. Not back and forth. Small circles going all around." she said, taking a seat at her desk and placing her legs on top with her goblet firmly clasped at her left hand.

A lancing pain shot through Eglantine's side as she tiptoed to reach the top part of the board, but she ignored it.
"As you wish." And the tiny circles she had been doing decreased in size.

"Professor," Diana said highly flustered in seeing her Professors act in such a manner. "I could do it. Honestly, it's no trouble."

"No No, your misdemeanor was small. You don't deserve to do this. Isn't that right, Professor?" asked Viper loudly, smirking visciously.

Eglantine said nothing as she finished wiping the board and dropped her soiled handkerchief back into her pocket.
"Would you have asked her to clean the board if she was Slytherin?" she asked.

Diana was so flustered. She didn't know what to do. She thought that making Professor DeLanquar wipe her board was belittling.

She glanced at a nearby potions bottle. Making sure it was empty she pointed her wand to it.

"Wingardium Leviosa!"

She elevated it on to the centre of the room before she quicky dropped it.

"There," Diana said her hands sweating. "Destruction of school property. I think that warrents another punishment."

Viper opened her mouth in mock disbelief. "Oh Professor! I treat all my students equally. If any of my Slytherins comitted a similar offense I would most certainly make them clean the board, or do worse! Who do you think I am? You?"

Viper turned to Diana with a blank look on her face. "Love, that wasn't even mine. That was the Headmistress's. It belonged to the previous potions master, who left it to the school. Why would I care about that? If anything you did me a favor. Horrid bottle clashed with the entire room..."

"The board is clean and it is clear that Miss Casillas' detention is over. Reparo the flask and put it back where it was, Miss Casillas and then return to your common room."

Diana muttered a quick repario on the broken potions bottle before going in between the Professors.

"Please, Professor Viper, Professor DeLanquar, stop this!"

Viper turned to Diana, ignoring what the teenager said. "Goodnight Ms.Casilla.Sleep well, for I'm sure your punishment was quite rigorous on you." she said dryly.

Diana hesitated before going out. If this was how they acted in front of a student, she didn't want to find out what would happen if she left them together.

Eglantine turned and strode for the door. Her courage had run dry and she was not about to remain in the potion's classroom another second.

"Goodnight Professor DeLanquar!" Viper called out smiling.

She turned to Diana with a shrug. "Look at that. She doesn't even say goodnight. That hurt a bit."

Diana watched as Professor DeLaquar left in a huff. She decided to leave as well.

"Night Professor Viper," she greeted and headed on out.

"Night, love!" Viper called out, merrily drinking her goblet.

Eglantine turned and gave Professor Viper her strongest glare.
"Good night, Professor Viper." and with that finished she left the potion's classroom.

Viper laughed to herself before deciding to retire for the night as well.
