Vaight Cottage ~A couple of months before June 13, 2025~

Ferderico appeared in the fire place.

Darien blinked. "Um...Hi...Mr Casillas."

"Diana's at work right now...um..." Well this was awkward...Darien thought to himself.

"I know," Ferderico said, dusting himself off of the soot. Not satisfied, he dusted himself off with his wand.

"It is not her I want to talk to, but you."

"...me?" Darien blinked. "What about?"

"What are you doing here anyway?" Ferderico looked around the house frowning slightly. "No work today?"

"...No." Darien replied, carefully. "I work from home sometimes."

Ferderico formed an 'O' with his mouth. It was obvious he did not approve of Darien's work ethics, or that he approved of Darien at all.

"And what is it you do again?"

Darien faked a smile. "I work for the ministry. Department of games and sports." ((lol))

"Yes..." Ferderico said sarcastically. "I'm sure your father's very proud of you."

He sat down. "Well Mr. Vaight, I didn't really come here to talk about your rather... interesting job." His tone suggested it was anything but.

Darien frowned. "Then what did you come here to talk about?"

"Diana," Ferderico said simply. "I want to talk about my grand-daughter."

"Ok...What about her?" Darien was confused...

The old man sighed, looking tired and as old as ever.

"The Purgers," Ferderico said, a seemingly random comment. "Are becoming more than just a nuisance, aren't they?"

Darien's eyes hardened. "Yes. They are."

"Well I don't see why we have to beat around the bush here." Ferderico said sitting back. "I want you to leave my Granddaughter."

Darien burst out laughing. "What are you crazy? No way!"

Ferderico did not like being laughed at. "I'll make it worth your pains," he said. "How much do you want?"

Darien stood up. "Are you crazy?! No! I won't do that to Diana-no amount of money will change that! What kind of grandpa are you anyway-trying to bribe your granddaughter's husband to leave her?!"

Ferderico stood up as well. "The kind that wants to protect his only Grand-Daughter from the Purgers!" He was writhing in anger. Who did his boy think he was? Raising his voice at Ferderico Casilas. He knew what was best and what was best was Darien Vaight had to leave Diana.

"You are a Pure-Blood are you not? In addition, I know your family has dabbled in the Dark Arts." Ferderico glowered. "You are a target for the Purgers. Hasn't the thought crossed your mind? By your staying here, you are not only endangering yourself but your wife as well."

"...I...I didn't-I...Diana..." Darien was stunned. Then he recovered. "But I don't do anything like that!"

"Haven't you been reading the Prophet boy?" Ferderico pointed out. "The Purgers don't care if you are innocent of their accusations or not, all they care about is getting a criminal, no matter how innocent they maybe."

Ferderico should know, already, he'd lost he's brother.

"I...I-Still-I can't leave her! I'm sorry, but I just can't."

"So you'd rather have her die?" Ferderico said. Alright he was being slightly melodramatic but, to be honest, the way things were going, that wasn't off the mark.

"I-I'll protect her! I won't let them hurt her!"

"You are willing to bet her life on your ability to protect her?" Ferderico said.
