Hogwarts January 2035 (fixed timeline)

13 year old Rossalyn McConn walked down the hall and sighed, Someone had thought it had been funny to put a sticky solution in her bed the night before and she got it all in her hair. She had tried to get it out be washing her hair but only made it worse and turned it more cement like. Then just before she had been about to find her mother or one of the other female professors, someone shot a cutting hex at her and it took out a huge chunk of her hair and left it uneven, so she had been forced to even it out. Now her hair was boyishly short.

Hugging her book bag she wiped a tear away with her sleeve, Hogwarts had not been fun these years, ever since her grandmother had fallen into darkness her entire family fell as well it seemed. She could count the number of times she had asked her mum to let her just go home after classes.. or the number of times she had gone to Juria to help with a bruise or cut she had gotten from someone pushing her or sometimes borderline hitting her. Her Mum had given the kids detention and contacted there parents but it had done little good. There just did more sneaky things to get her without being caught ... meaner thing.

Then a older Ravenclaw boy maybe 6th or 7th year came near her and seemed to intentionally bump into her.

The bump was packed enough force to push her to the ground.

"Watch where you are going McConn Spawn" the boy muttererd and moved on leave Rossa on the floor.

Rossa growled and stood up, Glaring at the boys retreating form she waved her wand sending a hex to make a skunks tail grow out his rear. Normally she wasn't in the habit of cursing people when there backs were turned, she had been pushed to far today and she was not in the mood for it at all.

The older teen twirled around a sent Rossa a murderous look, "How dare you.. you little Spawn" he growled and sent a boils curse at her.

Rossa blocked to curse but she didn't expect the boy to run up to her and grab her arm rather forcefully... pushing her into the wall.

"What are you doing? let got of me!" Rossa snapped and kicked. But as fate would have it the boy only squeezed her arm harder.

Rossa couldn't stop the wince in pain.

A figure approached the struggling Rossa and her attacker. With barely contained fury, the teen was seized and roughly thrown across the room.
"Did he harm you?" Her grandmother asked, green eyes flitting from the thrown boy to her granddaughter. She would have finished him off, a simple wink turning him into a warning for other children, but not in front of Rossa.

Rossa stared in shock when the older boy went flying across the hall and crashed in to the stone wall.

He was knocked unconciscous.

Rossa looked even more shocked to see who casued it..... her grandmother..

"Grandmama?" she breathed in disblief. She had not seen her in a while.

At the question she quickly rolled her sleeve down to hide the newly forming hand shaped burise.

"No" she said quietly adverting her gaze. Afterall it was awkward now, she and her siblings were ridiculed and abused because of there relation to the very witch before her. Not that she would ever say it, what idiotic people were doing was wrong.... but most she knew did it out of fear.

Always been a sensitive child Rossa could feel the anger rolling off her grandmother, it made her feel nervous, she also knew anger and her Grandmother didn't mix well.

"I am fine.... thank you" she said softly her eyes diverted to the floor.

Eglantine cocked her head to the side just as she always did when perplexed or concerned.
"He did hurt you..." she murmured, her eyes finding the boy's unconscious body. No one harmed her family. She had let them get away with too much for too long. Now the time had come to protect them. Sparing the boy for Rossa's peace of mind, Eglantine held out a hand for Rossa to take.
"Come, lieb. I will take you home." she smiled. "There is no need to fear."

Rossa swallowed hard, and wiped a tear away from her eyes.

"But..." she hesitated. She knew her Dad would not welcome her grandmother into home, if he was home that was.... she was sure her mum was in the castle somewhere, and even then she knew her mother and her grandmother weren't close anymore for obvious reasons...

She also didn't know how to feel about her grandmother either really anymore, some times she was mad at her for turning the way she did, she didn't hear her mother sobing some night because of ther hurt her mother put her through.

But yet.... she was still her grandmother, here and helping her... at what she just realized at great risk to her self if she were caught.

Then she heard foot steps coming up the hall, not wanting her grandmother to get caught she held on to her grandmothers hand.

"Alright..thanks"

Noting the hesitation, Eglantine only waited, her hand still held out for the girl to take. Finally she took it and Eglantine gently wrapped her arms around Rossa and they vanished into thin air, Excessum's power taking them wherever its mistress wanted.
