The Living Room

The room that lives.

Your basic furniture are here, comfortable couches, sturdy armchairs, lamps, and a coffee table.

There is also shelves of books, mainly about the arts but, really a miscellaneous collection.

Calista wandered to the bookshelf and selected a book at random.

She then sat down on a couch and began to read...Thankful it wasn't about vampire slaying.

Suddenly there was a knock on the door.

Armando paled slightly and glanced at Calista. Was it a fellow Slayer?

Calista froze, then slowly moved further into a corner, raising the book slightly.

Ready to run...or attack. Whichever.

Armando signaled for Calista to hide as he headed to the door.

He peaked at the peep hole and relaxed considerably. It was only Mary.

Armando opened the door. "Hello Mary."

"Hi Armando!" Mary churped in her usual way. "I was wondering if you can give me some sugar." She smiled at him, in a more than friendly manner. She held out a small scarlett container.

"Sure." Armando said simply and stood aside to let Mary in.

Calista relaxed when he let her in, and pretended to study her book...When in reality she was observing.

Who's she?
A slayer?...No actually, I don't think so.
Then um...a ...er...friend?
Hah! What's this emotion I'm sensing?
Silence! I don't care.

"I'm baking some cookies see, and imagine my surprise when I found out I had no sugar." She laughed at her self.

Armando grinned along and headed to the kitchen to fill the cup with some sugar.

Mary, being reasonably acquainted with Armando's flat remain in the Living Room. She frowned slightly when she saw Calista sitting there. "Oh, I didn't know you had a guest."

"Hmm? ...Oh yeah... " Armando said trying to think up of a good excuse. "Yes, this is Calista, a friend."

"A friend?" Mary repeated, the only difference being there was a romance connotation in her tone.

"Oh no," Armando said sheepishly. "Not that kind of friend, just a friend." Lies. Armando's mind shouted. You don't kiss your friends like that!

Mary looked considerable relieved and gave Calista a small smile. "Hello, I'm Mary, Mary Shoe."

((Shoe? lol))

"Hi." Calista smiled, for some reason finding it more difficult than usual.

She returned her gaze to her book, and the voice started another monologue of doom.

Well...Aren't we feeling a little-

Er...How could anyone read too much into that? She's throwing herself at him with the enthusiasm of...um...Raoul on coffee!

Mary looked at Calista with critical curiosity. Who was she really? She thought. Armando said she was just a friend... but she is a rather pretty friend. Should keep an eye on her. Hmmm...

"Here you go." Armando approached her with a cup filled with sugar.

Mary turned her gaze back to Armando. "'Mando, would you like me to bring you some cookies when I am finished?" She gave him a winning smile.

"Sure," he said rather absentmindedly.

"I'll make them extra sweet," Mary flirted. "Just for you."

Armando nodded, "Yeah, sure I love cookies."

Calista's expression hardened slightly.

"Well I should go off making them now." Mary said with a wink. "Bye Mando."

"See ya later." Armando said.

"Bye Celestia." Mary waved at Calista and without waiting for answer, left. Armando closing the door behind her.

"Calista." Calista corrected the door, in a low and emotionless voice.

"Interesting neightbours you have...Mando." She remarked, without even glancing up from her book.

"What? We just help each other out." Armando said. "You know, being neighbourly, that sort of thing."

Calista rolled her eyes.

"Sure..."

"Why do you care?" Armando asked. "Wait a minute... you aren't..." He smirked. "You aren't jealous are you?"

Calista made an outraged noise and attempted to speak...resulting in her opening and closing her mouth several times, making denying noises.

"..No! I am not! I merely happened to notice her transparent attempts to launch or catapault herself at you, that's all."

She raised the book so it blocked Armando from view.

Armando keep his smirk on. "Does that bother you?

Calista sighed, not moving the book.

"Should it?"

"I asked you first." Calista frowned slightly behind the book, trying to silence the annoying emotional voice. Then her face returned to it's blank and expressionless face...although perhaps a little green...

"How about I'll let you figure that out for yourself." Armando said going to his room. "I'm going to take a shower."

Calista rolled her eyes. "You have fun with that."

AFTER SOME TIME

Armando stepped out of his room fully clothed.

"I am going to go out." He said to Calista.
