The Emperor's Palace

Adam DeLanquar sat on his throne, his eyes closed. He had defeated his enemies...and the world now sat at his feet. He was more powerful than any other dictator before him. Magical and muggle...east and west...all were his to do with as he would.

And yet there was a single thorn in his great vast kingdom. The Remnant...

Throwing his goblet across the great stone throne room, the Emperor rose to his feet.
"You have yet to find them!" he hissed, towering over a servant who lay prostrate on the stone floor.

"They allude us, my lord." Saman muttered against the floor.

"You will find them, or else I shall assign this task to someone else." The irate Emperor ground out.

Saman nodded, fear weaving about his very heart.
"It shall be done, my lord."

Amara Darcy simply raised an eye brow out side the palace thrown room, she could sense the emperors doubt perhaps this was her time to make her move.

Swiftly she stepped in to the thrown room and went into a deep kneel in front of the the emperor, beside Saman.

"Perhaps I could assist Saman with the search for the Remnant, My Lord?" she addressed.

The emperor breathed out heavily, his wand/staff flying into his outstretched hand.

"Finally..." he smiled. "Yes, assist Saman." with these words he shooed the cowed man from the room.

"Darcy, you have yet to fail me. Therefore I give you an oath. Should you find the Remnant... Saman's position is yours."

Amara nodded her head, not letting the glee in the promised position show " I shale not fail you my Lord. I will find the Remnant"

She remained kneeling waiting to be dismissed.

The emperor nodded. She was just what he needed...fresher blood. Saman's stale paths had long ago run out into briars and thorns... but Darcy, she just might be able to find a new lead.

"Serve me well." he nodded, dismissing her.

Amara bowed her head low once again before gracefully getting up and leaving.
