Above Ground: Inner Sanctum (Effigy Room)

"I suppose this is the part where I ask what it is." Will said smirking.

"Do you really want to know?" Lara counter smirked. "I'm not sure you could handle the horror..."

"Please," Will said arrogantly. "As if anything could be worst then Fitz..."

"Oh it can be..." Lara grinned evilly, leaning towards Will. She paused for a dramatic moment before declaring "Bobby-Fitz!"

"Oh god," Will said dramatically clutching his ears. "I've never heard a more atrocious name."

Lara giggled at Will's reaction. "Succumb to the horror, Bobby-Fitz."

"You know, there are... a lot of names you can get from Roberto... there's Berto, Rob, Bob, Roberto, Bert." Will said counting him off his fingers.

"Why in Merlin's name would you insist on something as vile as Bobby-Fitz?"

Lara struggled to contain her laughter. "Because Bert-Fitz or Berto-Fitz isn't as awesome as Bobby-Fitz!"

She smirked. "Unless of course, you'd prefer Billy-Bob..."

Will's eyes practically popped out of their sockets as 'Billy-Bob' was mentioned.

"How is this an alternative to Brad Pitt again?" Will asked.

"Because Billy-Bob's alot funnier to say than Brad Pitt." Lara laughed. "Not to mention a better mental picture... Not a whole lot better, but a little better."

"I think my purpose for going back to the past has been changed... From now on, my sole purpose is to go back and convince my parents to give me a better name." Will said dramatically.

"Oh yeah, that'll be easy to explain. Hey Professors, ya mind giving your first kid a better name? Some chick he knows keeps messing with him about it." Lara replied dryly in between laughter.

Will rolled his eyes. "I won't tell them like that..."

"Hey," Suddenly something occured to Will. "Do you suppose we'll be there when we go back?"

"You know, I never thought of that until now, but that'd be totally bizarre! Cool! but bizarre... " she shook her head in bewilderment.

"Yeah," Will agreed. His mind blasted off with the possibilities... "Do you know exactly when in time we are going back?"

"No idea." Lara shrugged.

"If we do go back before we were born, how would that work out? Since everything that happens to little us, will happen to us-us?" Lara asked, genuinely curious, though she wasn't entirely sure if her question made sense.

Will was confused and he didn't hide it. "What do you mean? "

"Well, let's say little us trips and breaks their arm or has some injury that only happened when we got back to the past and changed it. Does that mean us-us will have injuries too?" Lara paused for a moment, mentally repeating what she had just uttered, trying to determine if it made any sense this time around.

"Yes.... I was think about that too... But I mean I suppose any injury we might get as our past selves would probably be healed so we wouldn't have that injury... Or would our present selves have said injury unless someone mends our past selves first?" Will got confused, time is complicated.

" ... What if we change the past by going back that some of us won't even exist?" Will suddenly becaMe very concerned. "I mean how good of an idea is it really to go back? Is it worth losing what we have now?"

Lara shrugged. "That's what I'm trying to figure out."

She froze, however, when it seemed as though Will was beginning to panic. She hadn't meant for the conversation to take this turn. "It's a possibility, of course. But it's just one of the risks. I mean, none of us really expect this to go perfectly as planned, just jump in, chit chat then dash off again, do we? We all know there'll be repercussions." she replied, attempting to calm Will down, awkwardly patting him on the back.

She was never one to show contact during conversations, unless of course it was a hug for one of her siblings during a down moment, but she wasn't sure what else to do. And from what she'd seen on those tv shows her Aunt used to watch, it seemed to usually help.

Will felt the pat on his shoulder and appreciated the physical contact, especially, since it came from Lara, who he knew wasn't one who usually initiated touch.

"I know but... what if going back we screw things up for ourselves... I don't want to lose..." - he paused - "...any of my siblings..."

Lara looked down. "No one does... But we can't stay and keep them locked up in here forever. If we keep going and living like this, we'll regret it forever. We have to take risks to get anywhere..."

"But how do you know that we won't make things worst if we go back?" Will asked.

Lara let out a dry, hollow laugh. "Can things get any worse than this?"

"Things can always get worst." Will said darkly.
