2029-A Dramatic Plot twist occurs! (Fixed Future)

"Mmmhm." Darius nodded.

Diana walked over to Darius, "My my mono, you are a mess." She didn't sound angry, just amused.

Darius smiled at her sheepishly. Diana took her wand and with a flick, Darius' face was cleaned, and another flick later, so was Zephir.

Zeph's laughter ceased, and he reassumed his blank expression, though perhaps less serious than usual.

Darien paused as the sound of screeching tyres reached his ears. He pushed the thought aside, and waved his wand at the dishes in the sink, which began to clean themselves.

"Can we go and play upstairs Mummy?" Darius asked.

"Sure thing." Diana said nodding.

Zeph got up and followed Darius to the stairs. "What're we gunna play?"

Darien froze as the sound of heels approached the door, and a sharp clang reached his ears, as the knocker on the front door was slammed against the metal base.

Celina tossed her hair and rapped again. "'Ello?"

On the bottom step, Zeph froze and fixed his gaze on his foot, face once more sullen, and distinctly sad.

Darien glanced across at Diana, and with a sigh, he opened the door.

Celina stepped briskly in, and the door swung shut behind her. Her eyes fixed on Zephir. "Ah, ma Zephir!"

Zephir said nothing, turning to face her with a sullen expression.

"'Av you 'ad a good time wiz your fazer?"

Zeph merely glared at her. "Cmon Darius, let's go play."

Darien stepped nearer to Diana. "Go on boys."

Darius was staring at the lady that just came through the door wondering why everyone suddenly looked so unhappy. With permission from his father, and further prodding from Zephir, Darius continued to his room.

Zeph sat down on the floor, saying nothing.

Celina smiled. "I see 'e 'as been 'aving fun-"

"What's your game?" Darien snarled.

Celina feigned innocence. "I do not understand what you mean-"

"Yes. You do!" Darien realised his voice was growing louder, and made an effort to lower it. "Zeph is not my son, and I know it!"

"You might beeelieve zat...but does your vife?" Celina looked across at Diana.

"What's wrong Zephy?" Darius asked him concerned.

"I want to know the truth." Diana said clearly. "Is he or isn't he?"

Zeph fiddled with a patch of carpet. "...I can't say."

Celina smiled. "'Aven't you asked your 'usband?"

Darien glared at her. "Tell us the truth!!" His voice rose.

Celina blinked. "Well, would Diana be 'appy for you to ignore your own zon?" She directed the question at Diana.

Zeph blinked at Darien's raised voice, and fiddled even more furiously with the carpet. He hated this plan.

"Do you want to colour Zephy?" Darius asked wondering if it would make him feel better.

"Of course," Diana said calmly. "I wouldn't want Darien to ignore his own son. If you won't tell us the truth Celina, we can solve this another way."

Zeph shook his head, and glared at the carpet.

He didn't like lying to his-...brother.

"Darius...Brothers are meant to stick together right?" He looked anxiously up at Darius. "They're meant to...to tell each other the truth, right?"

Darien glared. "Yes. We can."

Celina's eyes shone with anger. "Why should I allow zis?!"

"Because we don't trust you!" Darien half-shouted. "It doesn't add up-why are you trying to ruin me?!"

"I am onlyy treeng to let my zon know 'is fazer!" Celina's voice also grew.

"Mmhm." Darius nodded not entirely sure why Zephy was telling him this.

"How come you haven't shown up before?" Diana asked. "If Zephir is Darien's son, why didn't you tell him that you were pregnant?"

Zeph buried his head in his hands for a moment.

But he knew what he had to do.

His mother didn't care about him...maybe...maybe Darius did. But he wasn't his brother...

"...My mum's lying." He whispered, just loud enough for Darius to hear. "Darien isn't my dad, she just wants the money and-and-I'm...I'm not really your brother."

Celina waved a hand. "Eet's complicated. My partner of ze time zed 'e would raise 'eem as 'is own, but eet didn't work out."

"Just admit it!" Darien demanded. "Admit that you are lying!"

Darius blinked. "Lying...?"

"So let's go to St. Mungos, we could do a test that would settle this once and for all." Diana said folding her arms.

"...Not telling the truth.-I mean, no wait...Just not...I didn't-It..." Zeph blabbered, anger rising in him. Not at himself anymore. At his mother.

It was all her fault!

Impulsively, he ran down the stairs at top speed and halted on the penultimate stair.

"She's lying!"

Darien froze and glanced at Zeph. ...How did the boy know? What-What was going on?

Celina's expression was frozen in shock.

Her own son...betraying her?!

Diana watched as Zephir ran down the stairs and shout those words. "She's lying." He said.

And Diana believed Zephir. She rounded on Celina. "Well?"

Celina glowered at her son. "'E is lying. Speak ze truth-"

Zeph began to blurt out the truth. "I am! She told me I had to-to pretend, then we'd go back and my real dad could use your money" He pointed at Darien, "to pay off some stuff he owed, but---you...you were nicer to me, and-and-and- brothers don't lie!" This abnormally long speech concluded, he clammed up again, looking anxiously at Darius.

Darien bristled. "You scheming little bitch!"

Celina growled slightly. "Zephir...you 'av ruined everyzing!" She began to shout incoherently in French at her son, who simply glared back. Then she raised a hand, about to hit him.

"Don't do that." Darien's voice was cold, and he shoved Celina, who stumbled backwards, snarling.

"Vell, we shall go now. Good riddance zu you all...and for you-" She glared at Zeph. "Your fazer shall deal viz you laterrr."

Zeph visibly flinched. He didn't like his father.

Darius stepped in between Celina and Zephir. "Don't talk to him like that." He glared.

Celina glowered at the boy. "Sileence, leetle boy."

Darien's wand was in his hand, pointed at Celina. "Leave, Celina. Now."

Zeph loitered on the steps awkwardly, feeling grateful...and the uncomfortable prickly feeling was gone...

Darius wanted to take a step back. He didn't like this woman. But he stood his ground.

Diana stood by Darius. "Yes, I think it would be best if you leave."

Celina tossed her hair. "Fine wiz me! Zephir-ve air leaveeng."

Zeph loitered on the step for a moment, a silent plee on his face.

Darien wanted to help him...but he had no right. Zeph wasn't his son.

Darius blinked. He didn't want Zephir to leave with that woman!?

"No wait, Zephir!" Darius cried out grabbing Zephir's arm.

Celina flung the door open and stepped outside. "Zephir!"

Zeph paused, glancing at Darius. "I'll see you soon...brother?"

Darius threw his arms around Zephir. "I'm going to miss you..."

Diana was glaring at the space that occupied Celina. She kneed down so she was at Zephir's level, "Listen, you can come here whenever you wish. Alright?"

Zeph awkwardly sort of patted Darius on the back. "Me too-I mean, I'll miss you too."

Darien nodded. "Anytime."

He half-smiled at Diana. "Thanks."

Celina tapped her foot impatiently.

Diana sighed at Celina. Then turned back at Zephir. "See you later then."

"Bye Zephir!" Darius said with puppy dog eyes.
