2029-A Dramatic Plot twist occurs! (Fixed Future)

Darius nodded. "Uhuh."

Darien smiled and carefully handed the tray to Darius. "You two take it up to Diana, and I'll set the table for us."

Zeph glanced at Darius, puzzled. Why were they taking food to someone in bed, asleep?

"Okeydokey Daddy." Darius said carefully taking steps towards the stairs.

Zeph walked next to Darius, ready to help with the tray.

Darius was at the bottom of the stair case. He looked up then back at Zephir. "Zephy... I don't think I can carry this up the stairs." He said worriedly.

"S'Alright. I'll help." Zeph took one handle of the tray, half-smiling.

"We can both carry together."

That earned a smile from Darius. Darius started up the stairs.

Zeph followed Darius, keeping the tray balance between them, and smile now evident.

Darien glanced at their progress and grinned affectionately, before returning to laying the table.

The reached the landing and Darius turned to Zephy. "I wonder if Mum is awake yet."

Zeph shrugged. "If she isn't, the waffles'll get cold."

Darius frowned but headed to his parents' bedroom anyway. He quietly poked his head in. Diana was still asleep. "Mummy?"

Diana stirred in her sleep. "Hmmm?"

Darius turned to Zephir grinning. "She's awake.... well sorta."

Zeph snorted briefly with laughter, stepping into the room with the tray still balanced.

"Mummy!" Darius said a little louder this time.

Diana opened her eyes. "Darius? Zephir? What are you boys doing up so early?"

"We made breakfast for you!" Darius said proudly.

Diana decided to sit up. "You did?"

Darius nodded showing her the tray.

"Oh you did!" Diana said smiling.

Zeph's mouth twitched into a partial smile. "We brought waffles..and sauce."

"Thank you boys," She said smiling at each of them in turn.

Darius beamed and pulled the tray and set it on top of Diana's legs.

Zeph smiled for a brief second, then stepped backwards, face once more serious.

Diana kissed Darius affectionately on the cheek before she started to eat.

"Have you both eaten already?"

Darius shook his head.

"Ours is downstairs." Zeph replied, also shaking his head slightly.

Darien loitered outside on the landing, half-waving at Diana from behind the two boys.

Diana smiled at Darien then addressed the boys. "Why don't you two, head downstairs and eat already?"

"Okay!" Darius said. Well he was the one who was hungry in the first place.

Zeph nodded and followed Darius. Darien moved aside to let them pass.

"It's on the table boys."

Darius nodded, pretended to be a space ship and ran downstairs.

Diana looked to Darien. "Have you eaten already?"

Zeph watched Darius uncertainly. "What're you doing?"

Darien shrugged. "I'm not all that hungry."

"I'mma space ship." Darius said. "WHOOOOOOOSHHH!"

Diana swallowed the bit of food in her mouth and then looked at him. "Come on here then, it's a bit odd having you outside watching me."

Zephir blinked, gingerly mimicking Darius' actions, on a much more restricted scale.

"Whoosh?"

Darien smiled briefly and wandered over to the bed. "No creepy impression intended, I swear."

"WHooosh!" Darius said with more enthusiasm.

"I'm sure," Diana said sarcastically. She offered him some a bite. "What a piece?"
