2029-A Dramatic Plot twist occurs! (Fixed Future)

Zeph cautiously followed his "brother", picking up a packet and tipping some into the bowl.

Darius did the same. And whence done, looked up at his father for further instructions.

Darien smiled. "Well done boys." He held out two spoons. "Now you've just got to mix it up."

Zeph accepted the spoon with some caution, again waiting for Darius to act first.

"Okay! Mix-king!" Darius said grabbing a spoon as well then sticking it in the mixture.

Darien grinned, and began to set up a tray to take to Diana.

Zeph joined in the mixing, hesitantly.

"Daddy, are we done?" Darius asked staring into the mixture getting bored with mixing already.

Darien laughed and waved his wand discretely. "Of course."

The mixture solidified at Darien's unspoken command, to form waffles. A deft flick later and they flew into the toaster.

"Now we wait."

Darius sat on a chair and waited for a few seconds before he said, "Is it done now?"

Darien laughed. "Not quite yet."

Zephir allowed a flicker of a grin to form on his face, which was directed solely at Darius.

Darius frowned. Why was this taking so long?

"How about now?"

"Wait for the timer Darius."

The time ticked slowly down from 110...109...108...

"Why is it taking so long?" Darius whined impatiently. Hey he was hungry.

Zephir yawned slightly, stifling it behind his hand.

Darien watched the ticking timer with anticipation. Only 75 seconds to go...74...73...2...1..70...69...68, 67, 66, 65, 64, 63...

"Daddy, make it go faster." Darius asked. "I'm hungry."

Darien laughed. "No can do, Darius. The time'll go soon enough, you'll see."

Zephir blinked. The clock was going uncommonly slowly.

60...59...58...57...56...55...54...53...52...51...50....49...48....47...

Darius exhaled blowing his bangs. "Is it done now?"

Darien chuckled quietly. "Be patient Darius."

Zeph leaned back on the wall and closed his eyes.

Darius pouted. "Can I go see if Mummy's awake yet?"

Darien laughed. "Wait a little while Darius...Just a little longer and we can take the waffles to her."

20...19...18...17...16...15...14...13...12...11...10...9...8...7...6...5...4...3..2...1...BEEP!

"Yay! It's done! It's done!" Darius stood up.

Zeph pushed off from the wall, approaching the toaster.

Darien placed the waffles on four plates, and smiled. "Come on, pile on the sauce."

A bottle of chocolate, and another with strawberry sauce appeared.

Zeph poked one of the waffles cautiously, glancing at Darius for help.

Darius went for the chocolate immediately and started to draw little swirls in his waffle.

Zeph grabbed the strawberry and squeezed, forming a giant blob in the centre of his waffle.

"Not too much there Zephir." Darien waved his wand, smoothing the sauce into a more even coating on the waffle. "And you can both decorate Diana's, then we'll take it up to her."

"Okeydokey." Darius said humming a tune. He was done swirling his and he turned to his mother's waffle.

Darien smiled.

Zeph replaced the sauce and picked up the plate.

"Ready little chef?" Darien asked his son, amused.
