2029-A Dramatic Plot twist occurs! (Fixed Future)

Darius opened his eyes, "Waffles! With chocolate!" He sat up.

Darien laughed. "Quiet Darius or you'll wake your mum."

Darius looked sheepish and pretended to zipper his lips shut.

Darien smiled and gestured with his hand. "Come on, we'll go make Mummy some breakfast shall we?"

In the next room, Zephir stirred slightly.

Darius nodded instead of speaking, careful not to wake his mother up he crawled out of bed and hugged his father's legs.

Darien chuckled and half-carried his son out onto the landing.

Darius tightly held on. "Daddy!"

Darien muffled his laughter and carried Darius down the stairs in a fireman's lift.

"Weeee....!" Darius giggled. "Daddy can I pour the sugar?"

Darien laughed. "Yes, of course."

"Should we ask Zephy if he wants to make some too?" Darius asked looking back at his bed room.

Darien nodded. "Sure, go and ask him. I'll go set up in the kitchen."

"Okeydokey." Darius said. "Daddy... you have to put me down..."

Darien chortled. "Of course." And he placed his son's feet gently on the floor. "Go get Zeph, I'll get the waffle-making materials."

"Yayyyy!" And Darius ran up the stairs to his room.

"Zephy?" He peered inside. "Zephy? Are you awake yet?"

Zeph stirred and opened one eye. "Maybe."

"Do you want to make waffles with chocolate with me and Daddy?" Darius asked tentatively.

Zeph kicked back the covers. "Alright."

He blinked the sleep out of his eyes with ease, accostumed as he was to getting up early.

"Yay!" Darius bounced. He headed straight for the landing, then downstairs to the kitchen to his father. "Daddy he'll do it with us!"

Zeph wiped a hand across his eyes and stood up, following Darius with a stifled yawn.

Darien grinned back at his son. "Great. Come on you two!"

Darius looked back at Zephir then back at his father, eagerly anticipating what was to happen next.

Darien began to swing open cupboards, selecting ingredients.

"Alright...What do we need?" He grinned at the boys.

Zeph said nothing. Waffle mixture? How the hell was he supposed to know?

"Sugar!" Darius said eagerly. "And... and Flour?"

Darien laughed. "Of course." He pulled the ingredients from the cupboard.

"Want to tip them in the bowl?"

Zeph hesitated, waiting for Darius to go first.

Darius nodded bouncing. "Come Zephy, you can help too!"
