2029-A Dramatic Plot twist occurs! (Fixed Future)

Zeph raised an eyebrow at the 'roast beef' but chose not to comment.

Darius pouted for roughly a second. "How was your day Daddy?" He smiled sweetly, getting into character.

Zephir almost laughed. It really was quite amusing watching Darius pretend to be a girl. "...Alright." He half-coughed, choking down his laughter. Perhaps playing house was kinda fun after all...he mused.

Darien continued lashing out, and bit down as hard as he could on Nick's arm.

"Okay!" Aurora said looking at the pair of them happily, "It's time for you bed-time Dariu - Darla!"

Nicolas screamed in pain. A string of unflattering spanish cursing flew from Nicolas' mouth as he let go of Darien's head.

Darius frowned. "But we haven't finished eating!"

"You heard your mother, Darla." Zeph sniggered.

Darius pouted.

Darien rolled away from Nick, scrambling into a crouching position to face his opponant.

Aurora giggled and slipped on a mocked angry face. "That's right Darla, time for bed."

Nicolas glared at him and was about to attack once more when he noticed Diana standing in the doorway.

Darius pouted more fiercely. "But I don't wanna go to bed yet!"

Zeph watched with an air of amusement.

Darien noticed Nick's hesitation and his gaze also flickered to the doorway.

Colour drained from his face, and he stayed motionless, as though that would stop Diana noticing him.

"It's alright Darla, I know your tired. Zeph and I will tuck you in and read you a story." Aurora said a lot stronger.

Diana without a word entered the room and looked at the pair of them disappointedly. "I supposed I don't need to ask what's going on here."

Darius opened his mouth to protest, but Zeph beat him to it.

"Have fun." He flopped onto the floor and picked up a book, pretending it was a newspaper.

Darien said nothing, glaring murderously at Nick.

"Go to sleep now Darla." She grabbed Darius' shoulders and proceeded to drag him to the bed.

Nicolas was silent as well and looked apologetically to Diana but glared at Darien.

Diana sighed and she walked over too him. She took her wand out and Nicolas thought that she was going to curse him but was quite startled when she started to heal him. She started healing an interesting cut on his face. The bite make that Darien gave him among a few other things.

Darius struggled, but eventually had to give in to his "mother".

Giving Zephir a sharp glare, he allowed himself to be tucked into bed.

In response, Zephir smirked and resumed his reading.

Darien blinked, and chose not to move.

He braced himself for whatever curse Diana might decide to throw at him.

Aurora patted Darius on the head then turned to Zeph. "Now go read our darling daughter a story."

When she was done with Nicolas, she said. "I think you should go now."

He glared and said, "We need to talk." He threw a hint that meant, alone.

Diana sighed. "Fine." She turned to Darien. "It'll just be a moment."

Then she headed to the kitchen with Nicolas trailing behind her. He closed the door behind them.

"Why don't you?" Zeph replied mildly, not glancing up from his "paper".

Darien took a whole three seconds to make a decision. He pressed his ear to the door and listened intently.

"Because it's my dad that reads me my stories!" Aurora said annoyed. "Doesn't your dad read you stories?"

"Look I'm sorry about the whole fighting - " Nicolas started but Diana cut him off.

"I should have known it was going to happen. I shouldn't have left you two alone." Diana said. "But that's not why you wanted to talk to me."

"Yes," Nicolas said composing himself. "You need to leave him."

Diana glared at him. "Where do you come off telling me what to do?"

"Ay Diana, No seas terco." Nicolas said.

"I'm not being stubborn, Darien's my husband."

"Yes and he cheated on you, played you like a fool and now he has a bastard son."

There was an unmistakeable SMACK sound as Diana's palm made contact with Nicolas' face.

Zephir looked for a moment as though she'd slapped him. "No." His voice had lost all traces of humour.

Darius, or Darla, broke in with first thing that came into his head. "My Mum and Dad read me stories!"

Darien winced.

"Oh. Does your mother read you stories?" Aurora said surprised that at the news.

"Well then there you go, Zephy, Darla wants both her mother and her father to read to her."

"Dammit Diana, I'm only trying to protect you!"

"Well stop it, your blowing this out of proportion."

"No I am not, he's no good Diana."

"We aren't even sure that that's his son!"

"Yes but he still cheated on you."

"Merlin stop saying that!"

"I'm only saying the truth."

"I can't leave him, I love him, and it would be devastate Darius."

"When Ferderico finds out about this, you won't even have a choice."

"Don't you dare tell Grandpa anything!"

"Well - "

"There is no need to drag me out of here by my feet, Nicolas, if Zephir is his, I will take Darius and go." Diana said finally.

Nicolas inspected her and was satisfied that she was telling him the truth.

"Good."

Zeph's voice was shards of ice. "No. She doesn't."

Darius grinned at Zeph. "Yeah!"

Reluctantly, Zeph put down his book and wandered over, hands in pockets sulkily.

Darien pulled away from the door and darted a few yards away.

The one thing he wanted most at that moment was for Celina to be lying, and Zeph not his son.

Although he couldn't ignore a slight guilt, that Zeph would have to go back to his real parents...

"Wait a minute.... I thought you were Darius' brother?" Aurora said suddenly.

"So, I'd like you to leave now." Diana said.

"Fine," Nicolas said.

A moment later, the door opened.

Darius frowned, puzzled.

Zeph said nothing for a moment. The old guilty feeling was back. He was helping his mother lie to them all. "I am." He stated.

Darien stood up, glaring at Nick.

Nicolas had a smug look on his face. "See you later Vaight, nice face."

And then yelled for Aurora to come down.

"You are?" Aurora said sceptically. She was about to ask him more but then she heard her father call. "Oh that's Daddy!" She jumped up, "Bye Darla! - I mean Darius!" She gave him a kiss on the cheek.

"Bye Zephir," she gave him a kiss on the cheek as well, then she hopped down.

"Hi Daddy!" She said bubbly. Then she looked back at Darien. "What happened to your face?"

Apparently he still looked like he'd be in a fight while Nicolas looked perfectly normal.

Darien snarled, but glanced up the stairs.

Zeph turned slightly pink as Aurora kissed him on the cheek, and slightly freaked out, followed Darius down the stairs.

Darien's face was impassive. "Nothing." he took out his wand and cleared the blood off, though as he could not see his own face, that was all he could do.

Darius hurried over to his father. "Are you okay Dad?"

Darien patted him on the head. "I'm fine."

Zeph took in Darien's appearance without turning a hair. Some of his real dad's friends turned up like that regularly. He assumed it was normal. He folded his arms and leant back on the door frame, observing them all.

"You don't look okay," Aurora said sceptically. "You look like.... like... the Knight Bus hit you!"

Nicolas looked at Darien amused.

Darien raised an eyebrow. "I think I'd remember that."

Darius piped up. "Mummy, you should kiss Daddy and make it all better! Like when I scrape my knee!"

Zeph frowned slightly. How was that going to make it better? He looked at Darius confused. It didn't make sense...did it? He wondered whether his mother should've made him better when he got hurt...or whether this family was just odd.

"Err...." Diana blinked up at Darien.

Aurora looked at Diana expectedly.

But... but she was still angry at him!

But... she couldn't refuse! Not Darius anyway...

Darius' little face looked crestfallen for a moment. "Mummy?..." His little voice wavered slightly, and his eyes resembled those of a puppy.

Darien was about to object, took one look at Darius' face and melted.

Zephir watched, slightly intrigued despite appearances.

"I'm going to be sick." Nicolas said with a sour face. "I think I'll leave before I see this... come on Princessa."

"But Daddy..." Aurora pouted, but she went to him anyway.

"Come on," he grinned at Darien. "She won't do it anyway." Then he carried Aurora and apparated out.

Darien glared at the space Nick had just vacated.

Darius turned his pleading eyes to his mother. ((Do you want to take him over now?))

Zeph frowned. Darien and Nick must really hate each other, he observed.
