2029-A Dramatic Plot twist occurs! (Fixed Future)

All is quiet at Vaight Cottage.

Darien, Diana and Darius (try saying that ten times realy fast) are all at home.

Then...there was a knock at the door...

Darien glanced in the direction of the door. "Are you expecting anyone?" He shouted to Diana.

"I don't think so..." Diana said carrying a four year old Darius in her arms. "Go see who it is."

Darien stood up and wandered to the door, unlocking it with a tap of his wand.

"...Celina?!" He was surprised. Aghast.

Celina tossed her now-short blonde hair and gave a boy standing next to her a sharp push in the back. "Zephir...Meet your fazer." ((father))

Zephir's dark brown eyes, very similar to Darien's own, surveyed him. Darien's eyes did the same to the boy in front of him.

Zephir looked about eight years old, with blonde hair, the same shade as his mother's, and cut short. He had a slim build like Celina, and the same haughty expression. "And who are zey?" He jabbed a finger at the figure of Diana holding Darius behind Darien. He spoke with a faint french accent, and a obnoxious air.

"What do you mean, my son?!" Darien glared at Celina.

Celina smirked. "I mean eight years ago, you...helped me to concieve him."

Darien stepped to one side and glanced at Diana. "Perhaps you'd better come in..."

It took all of Diana's will power not to drop Darius at the sound of the news. Darien has son... another son?!?!

Darius felt his mother's slight slip up and hugged her tightly. "Mummy?"

Darien went straight over to Diana and Darius.

"Darius...would you go upstairs for a minute? The grown-ups need to have a talk..."

Celina smirked slightly at Diana, not missing the slip she had made.

Zephir examined Diana and Darius carefully. So that was the Diana his mum despised. He still didn't understand why he had to go along with this. Why couldn't his dad just go out and work like the other dads did! Dad never did anything...even when he was at home, which was almost never. He glanced at Darius, then at his mother, then at Celina.

Celina smiled slightly. "Per'aps Zephir should go wiz eem?"

Darien glanced at Diana.

Zephir rolled his eyes. "But Mama! He is...zo...zo...young! I don't-"

"Zephir you shall be'ave and follow your 'alf-bruzzer!" Celina whispered in his ear. "Or we'll send you to boarding school."

Zeph scowled. "Fine. I vill go with the kid."

Darien whispered to Diana. "Please, I don't want Darius to overhear this."

While her mind tried to evaluate the situation, Diana did what Darien suggested, and brought Darius up to his room. However, she did not trust his half-brother and was slightly worried to leave Darius alone with him. "Alright Darius, I'll be back, but here, if you want anything," she passed him his stuffed toy dog, "Just tell Snuffles here and I'll come right up." She kissed Darius' forehead.

She turned to Zephir. "So what's your name?"

"Zephir." Zeph's expression was blank.

"I know who you are. You're Diana."

He turned to Darius. "And you're Darius."

Darien glared at Celina. "How dare you?! That boy is no son of mine! My only son is Darius!"

"Zat is not true. Vile you were 'aving your leetle tiff with Diana, you know wat 'appened."

"Actually, I don't! I remember nothing after my seventh firewisky-"

"Vell I remember perfectly vell." Celina tossed her hair. "And my son needs a fazer. Not to mention the fact 'e is the next heir to your family."

"Darius is my heir! Darius!"

"Not any more." Celina smirked. "Zephir is older zen eem."

Darien gulped. "But I-I never-I wouldn't..."

Diana tried to give Zephir a smile but she overheard Darien and Celina talking downstairs.

"Listen, I'll be back alright?" Without waiting for a reply she walked the staircase to where Darien and Celina where, quietly observing. Too much was going on in her mind to think of any retort whatsoever. She felt so... betrayed.

"You can't prove this! You can't prove any of this! What right have you to charge in here and just-"

"Your son 'as every right to see 'ees fazer!"

Darien swallowed, glancing at Diana. "I need to talk to my wife-could you-"

Celina flicked her hair. "Oh don't vorry, I shall just be in ze car." She flounced out, shutting the door behind her.

Darien half-ran to Diana. "Please Diana...I was completely smashed...I don't even remember what I did-I don't know if she's lying! Please...please you have to believe me I never..." He gulped in air. "It was after our arguement...in July...you remember? You went to Spain and I...I went and got smashed."

Zeph looked around, sneering. "How old are you anyway?" He spat at Darius.

He folded his arms. "I can't believe I have to share my dad with a kid."

Diana's voice was trembling when she answered. "So there is a possibility that the boy is yours?"

Darien closed his eyes. "A slight chance. Just slight. I don't know. I...I blacked out! I don't even know if-Nothing might've happened!"

Zeph glanced around the room, and casually put his hands in his pockets.

"Well? Aren't you old enough to talk?" He sneered. "Now I have to share my dad with a mute kid. Just gets better and better. You can't be more than three anyway."

He sat down on the end of the bed, face distorted in an unimpressed sneer, although secretly jealousy rose within him. Darius' room was clearly well cared for, with toys and books. A contrast to his own room. The brightly coloured wallpaper made him feel neglected. His walls were painted a bland, boring black, with scratches and dips in the paint. But that was his own fault, he'd been the one who'd painted it. Curtains...A huge window with a view of an ordered garden... It wasn't fair.

Zeph sighed briefly. How he wished Darien really was his father.

"Well? What do you do around here?" He demanded of the younger boy.

Diana was confused and hurt at the same time. She looked at him squarely. "I think it might be best if I take Darius and stay with my grandfather for awhile... while you sort this out."

"I'm four!" Darius defended, hugging his little Snuffles, closer to him. He was confused. Was he his brother? He didn't mind sharing his dad. He liked to share. "We can play." Darius said excitedly. "Or colour." He ran to the place where all of his colouring sets were. "We can use my new markers."

"No Diana please..." Darien grabbed her hand. "Please...Don't...I..." He hung his head. "...I'm sorry. If-If you want to go, I'll deal with this."

Zeph blinked. This kid...shared...was offering to...share with him?

No one ever offered to share with him. They all thought he was weird...

"...You...You don't think I'm weird?" His sneer faltered.

Diana sighed, "What if the boy is yours... what will happen then?"

Darius laughed, "What's weird?" That was a funny word. Darius wondered what it meant. He also wondered what Zephir's favourite colour was. "What's your favourite colour?"

Darien sighed. "I don't know. I...I don't know."

Zeph shrugged. "Weird's like when someone's not like everyone else. And then all the other people whisper about them and sit away from them and stuff."

He raised an eyebrow. "It's black. Why? What's yours?"

Diana nodded. "We'll leave tomorrow." Diana touched his cheek. "I'm not leaving you alright? I just-I just need... some space."

"Here you go!" Darius handed him the black marker. "We can colour now."

"My favourite colour is red." Darius gave him a toothy grin.

"...Okay..." Darien hung his head. "I'll sort this out."

Zeph blinked. The boy was actually insane.

Sharing...What a strange idea. And for some reason he felt pleased, which confused him.

Zeph nodded. "Red's good. I wanna have red hair when I'm older. Or black."

As this thought occured to him, he grabbed a strand of his blonde hair and began to colour it with the pen.

"I'm not sure what to think Darien... I feel so... how are you feeling?"

Darius was scandalized. "Why are you colouring your hair?!"

Darien shook his head. "I don't know. Just confused, I guess. And I don't trust Celina."

A knock on the door interrupted this.

"Speak of the devil."

He opened the door again. Celina flounced in. "Vell, my car 'as broken down. Can myself and your leetle son stay over 'ere for ze night?"

Darien glanced at Diana.

"Cos I want to." Zeph pouted. "S'Alright for you, your hair's dark anyway."

He selected another strand and began to colour that too. "I hate my hair." It's too much like Mum's. I don't want to be like her...or real Dad. All they do is ignore me. I don't want to be anything like them.

Diana wasn't able to hide her dismay. "Well couldn't you apparate? I mean you're a witch aren't you?"

"But..." Darius looked at Zeph's hair highly concerned. "They're not supposed to colour hair."

Celina raised her eyebrows. "And leeeve my car 'ere? I zink not." She glanced at Darien. "Besides, leetle Zephy does not like apparateeng."

Darien glanced up at the room where the two boys were, but said nothing.

Zephir shrugged. "Don't be such a baby. Pens can colour anything, didn't you know that?"

Now more of his blond hair was coloured, but the pen had begun to squeak as it ran out of ink. ((lol short-lived pen))

Diana as well remained silent. It was up to Darien. She didn't want Celina to say, it was asking too much of her.

"I'm not a baby, I'm four!" Darius defended. He looked up at Zeph and then back at the pens in his hand. "Can I colour my hair too?"

"Uh..." Darien glanced around for help.

"Zat ees settled zen. Me and my babee shall stay 'ere." Celina would not take no for an answer.

Zeph shrugged. "What am I, your mother? Do what you want." His entire fringe was now black, a stark contrast to his remaining blond hair.

"I'm sorry," Diana said. "But you can't... You've overstayed your welcome."

Darius blinked. "Okay." And he started to colour his hair. It failed, as his hair was already dark but he didn't want Zeph to think he was weird.

Celina glanced at Darien who nodded. "Diana is right. You have."

Celina sighed overdramatically. "Veeery vell. But I trust ma babay 'as not outstayed ees? 'E ees, after all, only a babay."

Darien glanced at Diana then nodded awkwardly. "Fine. He can stay. You can go. There's a hotel nearby." He threw open the door and Celina pranced out. "I shall beee back in ze morneeng."

Without stopping to say goodbye to her son, she apparated away.

Darien slammed the door, then glanced up the stairs. "...I can't believe she didn't even say bye to him...Bitch." he growled.

Zephir frowned at the sound of the door slamming.

"...Go see what's happening." He ordered Darius. He reasoned that as he was older, the younger boy would have to do what he said.
